I'm not completely certain...

I'm not completely certain, but I think part of the reason Ellie lets Abby go is because she realised she wasn't that much different from her? She was hating him for the same reason Abby did.

I think she lets her go because it sucks.

Killing her would have ended the game anyway.

This is correct, but the game still rubbed me the wrong way because it thinks it's this "high art" when that exact concept has been done to death and better (The Wire and Justified, off the top of my head). In comparison to those shows, TLOU2 would be laughed out of the theater.

I mean, just imagine for a minute these cutscenes were presented as a movie and aired in a theater.

She went there all amped up to kill Abby but when she got there she found a shell of the person she wanted to kill the whole time all weak and sickly then realized it was all pointless and she threw away what little she had.

The top tier dumb moment to me has to be Ellie seeing Joel get clubbed by a she-beast and she decides to not shoot from the door and dive right in.

fucking retards in this bitch dissing a big brain script lmao

Fuck no. She bit Abby. She imagined the sheer horror on Lev's face when he wakes up with Abloater standing over him.

Ellie is really emotional she doesn't think rationally like that, she stole a horse and rode off into hunter territory as a kid cause she was mad at Joel.

we can only be certain the game is a boring pile of trash

There's no reason Abby can;t get her gains back. So long as she finds a faction that isn't a gang of slavers.

Abby ripped off some of Ellies fingers with her teeth, there's no way Abby didn't catch some infected blood in her mouth from that. She's fucked.

She looks like she aged 10 years at the end

what i don't understand is why she didn't shoot abby on the spot and be done with it... why the fuck do you give that bitch a fighting chance

love the constrast between ultra muscular abby and the patheric skinny "thing" at the end. really felt pity for her

True and you could say that she reacted so recklessly because it was Joel getting clubbed, but she should be an experienced scavenger/infected killer at that point with experience in clearing rooms.
It was dumb enough to remind me of Chucky summing it up.

ellie can't infect others

So is Lev by extension.

It's already been established she can't infect people she just has immunity, otherwise her girlfriends would have got infected from kissing.

When I played I assumed that the person Abby contacts on the radio was a rattler baiting her, but I looked it up and it sounds like it was an actual firefly and she just got captured by the rattlers on her way there? My version is better.

And three years at Auschwitz.

Well shit, I must've missed the bit of dialogue that explains that

It's possible they have radio surveillance tech. It's not much better, but it'd make more sense.

Did Ellie find out why Abby killed Joel? I don't think she was ever told about her father being killed by Joel.

The home screen after you beat the game shows the Firefly base they talked about with Abby's boat on the beach, it's legit.

She didn't know the surgeon was Abby's father, but she did know Abby was a firefly.

That's what it was. I thought it was Santa Barbara.

Ellie lets Abby go in order to forgive Joel. She forgives Joel for killing those fireflies and she has to forgive Abby for killing him.

She has a journal entry in the flashback when she's shooting with Tommy talking about her ex-gf cat kissing her and she freaked out cause she thought it might infect her but nothing happened.

I thought that was the round building from the resort, the rattlers' prison.

well she tells it to dina

Sounds like they're teasing players with TLOU3 already.

Sounds like a morality lesson for children.

The moral is if you follow through with revenge you end up with nothing but if you forgive you also end up with nothing but the person you wanted to kill is alive

it is the rattler's prison

Sounds like not being a hypocrite.
>Hey Joel i forgive you for killing a bunch of people and robbing me of the chance of saving humanity
>Hey Abby i'll kill you for wanting to avenge that people

The real moral of the story is if you kill the person the dev put a lot of time and effort into forcing the player to play you can't use them for a sequel.

nah, the real lesson is 'no loose ends'

Honestly, it'd be hilarious if a bunch of trackers connected to some Wolves Ellie slaughtered tracked her down, and she lets them have their way with her after she adopts this philosophy.

The Rattlers wouldn't care who ran the salt lake Firefly base, they asked that question to make sure Abby wasn't bullshitting and then told her about the base.

The moral is that Machiavelli was right
If you kill someone, make sure to kill their children and close family so that they can't come for you

Naive morality lesson.

She lets Abby go because the reality of revenge hit her during their fight and she realised that killing Abby will solve nothing.

I thought she didn't kill her because she realised that nothing would ever bring Joel back and she just gave up.

Sort of like letting her live would solve nothing because she winds up with exactly the same amount of nothing.

>The Wire
?

Why'd she give up right there? Why not at any time before? Did she suddenly remember Joel existed at that specific point in time? I mean, I wouldn't blame her. The game forgets characters existed left right and center.

2deep4me

It could be that as well, but it's interesting that they choose this flashback of all flashbacks that Ellie flashes back to as she's drowning Abby before we get to see what the rest of it was when she went back to the farm house.
She remembered that she was having difficulty in forgiving Joel for denying her the chance to save humanity from the impact of the outbreak and the freaky mushroom zombies that came with it and denied it the chance to recover.

The WLF is finished at the end you can hear them getting btfo on the radio in the theatre before the Abby vs Ellie fight, they threw everything they had at the Scars.

No, it's just a shit ending with a little guitar twang to make you feel bad while Neil makes sure his gorilla waifu survives for a third game.

This is not about adopting any philosophy but about being able to forgive Joel in good conscience. Those hipotetical guys you mention have nothing to do with Joel.

Its funny you say that, I watched a 10 hour youtube video of TLOU2 cutscenes stictched together and relevant gameplay bits. 7

I wasn't sure what he meant either, but I'm guessing when Omar and Brother Mouzone killing Stringer. Which was revenge on Omar's side.
