Have you tried bludgeoning your head with a heavy object?

Nothing is quite like it I'm afraid

yakuza 0 worked for me

>start game
>get to ship
>immediately fuck up and crash into the moon
Looks like I'm gonna have to study rocket physics and gravitational pulls more before I start

Captive bolt pistol aimed to your forehead and depress the trigger.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd

It's baffling to me that so few reviewers have even acknowledged this game. I think it's the biggest proof of how cucked this industry is.

There's a tutorial rc ship on the home planet you can practice with

oh come on, Outer Wilds has been THE indie darling at big news outlets for a while now. it's one of the 'mainstream' indie games. it even has a documentary about it.

This. The devs just have no drama associated with them. They just make games like devs actually are supposed to do so they're not in every facet of your social interests like other indie devs like Phil Fish, Alec Holowka and Sean Murray

Try Return of the Obra Dinn
Not an adventure game but when I was playing Outer Wilds, the kind of deductive mystery solving reminded me of my time playing Obra Dinn.

Riven.

>HAHA Zig Forums BE MY DOCTOR FOR DEPRESSION
Definitely not Outer Wilds, that will only dig a pocket of existentialism into it. Something that can be picked up and dropped easily is better, since you don't want to be stuck doing what feels like a job when you're in a retarded state of mind. Something like a Puzzle Game or a Phoenix Wright clone.

game is kino as fuck but finding the path to the Southern Observatory nearly fucking killed me. not realizing how rocket boost works really did a job on me.

There is no cure, and we will never find another game that scratches the same itch

La-Mulana 1 & 2 and Subnautica are the cloest things

Is this a survival crafting game? Because I hate those.

Try Battle Chef Brigade

Not remotely, it's an adventure game. You should leave the thread before you're spilled.

I watched the trailer and the graphics gave me a headache. Is it better in game?

No, pure exploration but executed really well. Basically what walking simulator devs pretend the trite garbage they put out is.

If you decide to check it out don't look for guides or anything because this game has absolutely 0 replay value and it's all about the mistery and piecing together what happened

ok cool thank you

Im in the same boat.
Tbh I'd be down for just something with similar gameplay - just flying a ship around in cool areas. The way the ship controls is so satisfying. I always loved it when devs give you freedom in flying movement. Like how you can fly at insane speed near the surface or how you can skip like 90% of the platforming on that planet that collapses into a black hole if you know how to pilot the ship well and how to land, or how you can evade the fishes on that other planet weaving around terrain. God I sometimes want to reinstall it just so I can fly around and shit.

maybe it's the camera but I feel flying the ship is way easier than the rc. it sound like the dude just isn't either using the landing camera, or paying attention to his descent speeds

You'll probably get used to it. If not just refund it or pirate it

I thought it was really easy, especially if you're coming from the quantum tower. Then again I did find the hanging city first so maybe it was easy due to learning to navigate that place first? I dunno.

For me it was lifting off, setting the autopilot and then crashing into the planet.

the autopilot just sends you in a straight line, gotta watch out for the planet's gravity pulling you in. if you're going to auto pilot, at least get out of the atmosphere. and uh.. make sure the sun isn't between you and your destination either.

>set autopilot
>another planet orbits in front
>drives you straight into it
T-thanks

I understand it now. It was just hilarious at the time.

More adventure games.

There is an entire genre of games like Outer Wilds.

You can modify how it looks in the settings. I put it in like grey blue with sharp pixels and had no problem or eye strain going through it. It’s basically a monochrome 3D game.

it made me less depressed

Bit of a fun little fact, but you can use the supernova to light your marshmallow.

There are two ways to the Southern Observatory, one from the escape ship and one from the gravity cannon. The former is WAY harder and longer than the latter, but the latter falls apart later in the loop.

>Title screen foreshadows the major plot reveal
Is there any other game that does this?
It feels pretty unique.

heh, no way. I gotta try that.

There was a lot of noise about it and it appeared on a lot of 'best of 2019' lists

Really shows how little influence reviewers have actually. I finally played it when it came to Steam and I think thats why discussion about it has picked up, and the word of mouth is what gets games noticed.
