We're not in the early 2000s anymore gramps. Get with the times
what do zoomers use nowdays? youtube?
>get stuck on one part mid-late game
>"this part is rough but if you've been following along up to this point then it won't be a problem"
Never used gamefaqs much, but I remember the amazing art they would do at the top of the faq, like make the logo out of symbols. Some were really impressive. Great times.
>walkthrough has a spiel about them condeming the 9/11 attacks and wishing death to terrorism
dangerously based
Makes sense, a video guide would be much better than text. That said, pretty sure new games still get FAQs.
How is watching a video faster than typing in what you're looking for in a searchbar on a FAQ and reading, zoomer scum?
>faq has a section addressing whether or not the game is a doom clone
goddamn based
CE Chads where we at
>guide has a disclaimer regarding the author's present day condemnation of the game and its contents after becoming a born-again Christian
It's like of like comparing a written instruction with a demonstration of it. If you're just looking for a quick hit of info, then text is probably faster, but it really depends on why you're using the guide. Surely you realize there are more than one use case for guides in games?
>video guide:
>”I really enjoyed the atmosphere in this area...” 10 minutes of a 30 minute video.
>text guides
>ctrl+f
>type
>read
>done
what is the point of this comic
>has a Q&A section that isn't funny
>author rates all units in the game based off their designs, their how random the character is, or whether they are the butt of jokes, and includes nothing about how the unit performs
Different times and I miss it, fellas.
to depress faggots like you over the worthlessness of mutts

Found: chapter 6 after battle Volf.
You never miss this.
It's VERY POWEDER out all weapon.
Work on any type enemy.
Scythe is not tool only for Death.
It is weapon.
When my first see skill Scythe by Haseo from .HACK/GU for PS2.
And then girl name Maka seem skill with Scythe from
anime: "Soul Eater".
Scythe is my favorite weapon than Kusari-gama.
Up level 2: chapter 7. Yes, you need and very power.
Up level 3: chapter 7 if you have lot money or
chapter 10 before you face Elizebet.
Rank: 3rd I over slow sorry
I don't know actually, I always thought it was strangely dismal
calm down schizo

I think we are talking about the same guy actually
Post your karma while you're at it
A video guide is only useful when it's not some sperg bumbling through the section. Everytime I've tried a video guide I have to waste time trying to click through mistakes until I'm finally seeing the solution
>stuck on a part
>check a guide
>"so after you beat this easy part you..."
Half of the "soul" feeling is still needing to experience the thing for the first time, rather than stripping the fun out of it by seeing someone else do it on YouTube. Sure, the text might be a little vague and not precise (for example, finding a collectable), but finding that collectable is still more enjoying than just copying someone's movements from a YouTube video.
Probably, dudes spend too much time trying to be funny
Fuck that I don't want some video guide I just wanna read what I need to know and get to the point or just see a damn map

Shame, they should do better editing.

EVEN MORE BASED

Based
some of the message boards still give me mid 00's internet vibes
>walkthrough gets pulled by author because of stupid fucking drama
Yeah soooooooooooo fucking based, bros.
I used to get the biggest faq and print it at my old job. And then do the same for a friend
>Get stuck on a puzzle
>Go to Gamefaqs
>"This puzzle is the same as all the other's in the game. Shouldn't give you any trouble. Next is..."
>this is your brain on Christcuckery
yikes
>"Okay so you're gonna want to go to the next room—"
>doesn't describe the room
>doesn't tell you which way to get there
I really just miss game culture from that whole era. Like 1993 to 2008. Thats what "video games" mean to me, and honestly I'm having a hard time with how they are now.
Maybe so, copying movements would be better for demonstrating a trick or something though. Video guides are great for speedrunning, score attack, fighting game high-level techniques, and other things that are tough to describe compared to how they are to demonstrate. Also, I disagree with your use of "soul" here as being silly, but that's not worth more than this brief aside.
>surely you realize there is more than one use case for an faq?
Zoomers only play games that do not need guides.
the walkthroughs were kino and the message boards were the easiest place to troll, they probably still are because I swear half the threads I see in the front page have to be bait.
The community is shit.
Just update them
>since you've been following this guide you have all 9 pieces of fushu mushu, combine them and just attack once and your done!
Tell me more about your childhood nostalgia user, curious to learn about how your magical childhood years are definitely the best there ever was and how nothing will ever come close.
>author includes a design of the section using bars and crosses
Also
>read "once you get to the cartwheel, go to the left"
>"¿Qué CARAJOS es un cartwheel?"
>look it up and expand your English vocabulary
Based, Persona games are always edgy cringe by making demons the "good guys" and having the ability to summon Satan/Lucifer but you can only use Jesus in one game.
This shit is right down there with "PM'd you the fix :)"
I used this exact diagram all the time back then. Doesn't get more SOUL than this.
>how do I get past this part?
>[removed]
>thanks!
Im really missing it as a place to find spoiler-free guides or hints
>walkthrough has ASCII art
those were the best times
I wont deny it. I'm just saying it.
Like people who started gaming in 1977 and claimed that the NES ruined everything with "graphics and stories". I didnt go that far even, just said I'm having trouble adjusting to it.
and then the millennials came. you mentally ill autists know the rest
Who remembers sites like Gamewinners and other places that had playground-tier tips and tricks?

Any other 2009 bros who migrated here from gamefaqs? We used to be the majority on this site, during the golden ages of Zig Forums.
This, but when Let’s Plays were only screenshots with an insightful narrative by the Let’s Player who doesn’t try to be too funny.
