Can we have an ergonomics thread? What are your tips for having good posture while gaming? How high should your monitor be sitting? Where should you place your arms?
SIT UP STRAIGHT, user
Why are people afraid of sitting bad?
regular exercises
because you don't realize how bad it is until you're already years deep into your poor posture habits and you can't sleep at night without taking pain medication
SIT
UP
STRAIGHT
Make sure you buy a Gaming Chair(tm)
swimming is best
painkillers will solve it
i dont bend forward i kinda melt into my chair
im literally using chair on the left and its destroying me
>only able to get comfy if i sit indian-style with legs crossed
>every time i put my feet down they get super cold and my knees start getting achy until i put them back up in my chair
is this normal?
I'm really happy being right above the cut off for manlets (5'8)
...user...I...
Sitting up straight is fucking uncomfortable and it sucks. The discomfort is noticeable after even just a few seconds, I have no idea how they expect you to do it for hours at a time. Why can't we invent a chair that lets you sit in a comfortable position that still lets you use a PC and also won't fuck your back.
Same. That being said OP is right, good posture is good for all anons. OP is a cool guy.
It fucks your soft tissue pretty hard.
>tfw sit all contorted and shit, probably giving myself scoliosis
golem get ye gone
>TFW I fixed my desk's ergo and since I've been working at home, my office desk's shitty setup isn't causing my muscle or nerve pain anymore
wait is your monitor supposed to be a certain height? mine is low to the desk so i kinda look down at it but my neck starts hurting after a while
If you're around 1m75 or more. Check the height of everything in the place you live.
I had the impression to constantly having my neck down but ever since I (remembered) the last owner was 1m60 I've noticed I need to bend to use basically anything.
Since then I reupped the tables that could be increased in height and started stretching more. Way better
Any sitting position can be fine if you keep your spine unfucked. But if your monitor and input devices are positioned in ways that have you contort your body, you'll have a shit posture.
If your monitor is comfortably in your field of view, you wont need to move your head to see it.
>Sitting
Thinking of buying an office chair. I've been sitting in a steel folding chair for the past year or so and while I don't have any complaints I'm thinking I should replace it. Are office chairs good or should I get one of those gaming chairs?
standing is worse than sitting. humans were made to walk long distances, standing still in one place is shitty on our joints
>it's posture propaganda thread
If sitting straight is normal then why is it so uncomfortable? We are programmed to do things we don't like for the entertainment of our rulers. Sit the way that you find comfortable for your optimal health.
AFAIK you shouldn't dit completely straight. There needs to be a slight curvature between spine and buttocks
i just bought a $70 chair from walmart a few months ago and regret it, spend at least 200 for a decent quality chair. apparently the ikea markus is good but ive never tried it
I think your hips should tip slightly, like a bucket. Or at least that's what I remember from middle school
I almost never had back problems until this past week. I’ve been working from home since mid-March with no problem but suddenly my lower back is killing me. I used my dresser as a makeshift standing desk for part of today, but it didn’t help much.
With your legs up your blood won't be fighting gravity as much which could explain your cold feet, don't know about your knees though.
