stopped playing any games with weight limits
adding an arbitrary mechanic to actively prevent me from playing the game isn't fun. stalker is absolute fucking trash because of it
Oxygen meters.
why are americans so opposed to wearing masks at the moment?
>Evade has no I-Frames
>stalker is absolute fucking trash because of it
Negative RNG
Durability
Movement reduction
just give yourself unlimited carry weight that's what i always do
Because you're forcing them to do something wich triggers their autism.
They're pretty uncomfortable in the summer heat. It was fine when it was still cold.
Oxygen is not included. Great game. Unironically.
Weight limit is there to prevent you from hoarding everything and breaking the economy too fast. Also fun to stumble upon THAT item you really need to drag home but you're full, so here comes decision making.
One of the main things I mod out of modern Fallout/Elder Scrolls games is weight limits. Fuck that shit.
the weak should fear the strong
Durability and hunger come to mind too. They never really pose extra challenge, they just soak up extra time.
>incredibly low drop rates
>miss-able items/unlocks
>romance-able character is less attractive than the npc that you can't romance
>stats that can only be increased by playing the game differently than how you normally play
Just take some potions and carry some rings of fortify carry weight or feather.
Because it turns out that people are animals that need to be trained.
Hunger.
equipment durability and carry weight are the prime offenders.
>find a decent enchant
>disenchant it to learn it
>enchant iron daggers with garbage soul gems using the decent enchant
>sell the iron daggers for 600 gold a pop
>economy broken
Trying to balance one thing and then breaking it with another is basically Bethesda's motto huh.
>adding an arbitrary mechanic to actively prevent me from playing the game isn't fun.
Yeal, like hit points or life bars. Why the fuck should the game have an arbitrary "damage" mechanic that makes me stop playing?
permadeath
not in the sense of ruining the game itself, but ruining how every other game rely solely on it for replayability, plaster it with "roguelike" and be done with it
because if covid really is a coronavirus that means it doesn't have the right genetic makeup to survive in the summer.
Who is this girl?
And yet cases seem to be soaring in the US.
Because the virus is just the flu?
>an arbitrary mechanic to actively prevent me from playing the game
That's not what weight limits are though.
It's a mechanic that simply explicitly prevents your ability to play with all items, gear, and equipment on you at all times.
Which isn't even remotely close to what you said.
Shitty inventory management (usually due to console style GUI with very clunky controls, and weight management in RPG's like Fallout, or ATOM RPG, etc. only role is to force you to run back and forth to stores and stop doing what's fun... this is the first thing I remove with cheats / mods in every game)
Trash collector sims (see Skyrim, Fallout 3 & 4).
Mana resource that doesn't regenerate over time. (see Bioshock, Fear)
Cheating enemies (see Dark Souls enemioes hitting through walls, or with infinite poise or stamina, or see Vermintide 2 with phantom spawns backstabbing you out of thin air where 0.1 seconds ago there was nothing, and hits through block).
Too long kill times in PvP (see Apex Legends, Overwatch, moba style makes sure individual skill is secondary to how lucky you got with your team).
General shitty gameplay mechanics (see Dead by Daylight hook struggle, a lot of the game just recudes you to a space-spamming monkey because they couldn't come up with literally anything better).
RNG (almost any battle royale game, or see loot chances in MMO's or Vermintide 2).
Matching incompatible design choices (see Overwatch with Brigitte, and then compare that to Genji, one is extremely low skill ceiling, the other extremely high, one is entirely incapable of carrying at all, the other completely capable of decimating the enemy solo if good enough... they have no place in the same game).
Super-breakable weapons (see Zelda: BoTW, this falls slightly under the inventory management scheme... games shouldn't be built on constantly having to farm for, and change your equipment, there should always be a viable option for those who just want to focus on playing, instead of micromanaging)
Can anyone justify ammo management to me?
I started Doom Eternal and the low ammo counts are really aggravating. I assume it's to force you to switch weapons, but I don't see why that couldn't be accomplished through other means (like demon weaknesses). Contrast this with ULTRAKILL, which I had a ton more fun with because it stripped away so much of the unnecessary bullshit, like having to worry about ammo.
Maybe in multiplayer shooters or games that have some pretension of realism it makes more sense, but even then I'm not sure.
Yeah, it’s obvious you are a hoarder, how much of that inventory do you even use?
then that either means the people you put your trust in don't have any idea what they're talking about, or it's a hoax.
List some games you actually enjoy, please.
>Too long kill times in PvP (see Apex Legends
CoD-level TTK is garbage
Nothing beats the satisfaction of stacking endurance and carry weight artifacts and hoarding your way across the zone at full speed. Get filtered pleb.
Aren't they the same thing?
You're right, they're unreliable because they're happily going forward with opening shit when it's far from under control and will only tighten far after shit blows up in their faces. I see them as people that look out for themselves to ensure they don't lose their jobs so it only makes sense for individual people to look out for themselves and their relatives, what doesn't make sense are retards putting themselves and their relatives at risk because they don't want to wear an uncomfortable mask, they're the ones that deserve to be chopped up and fed to pigs.
Someone from Troubleshooter
You're the kind of insufferable cunt who would grass on their parents to the stasi.
>most of mechanics mentioned suck in one genre, but can be great in other genre
Lets post some actual shit mechanics. My pick is multiplayer matchmaking. It's up to player if they want to play competitively, make metas or do whatever. Forcing it on players ruins the experience for everybody.. I miss the cs 1.6 clan wars era
Cope tranny.
nigger cattle
I refuse to make some corporation even richer during this scamdemic that the left is trying to whip everyone into a panic over. I haven't worn or purchased a mask and won't ever.
Durability
I generally agree, but it probably depends on game. A 1v1 game in particular requires a ladder. That said, it definitely shouldn't be your only option.
Then manufacture one, or are your big burger sausage fingers too clumsy?
How whould a roguelike work without permadeath?
Nigger cattle would be the imbeciles that think it's safe because their local representative told them to go out to work lmao retard.
Have fun paying your hospital bills mutt faggot.
Nigger cattle are the people who blindly follow what the TV tells them, nigger cattle.
I don't mind weight limits, but if you do this, better add an option to filter out the trash. Basically if I loot some bandit fuck I don't want to look through their inventories every time. I don't care about their fur armors and shit, just let me hide the low value/high weight shit.
Because even the slightest ounce of authoritarianism or rules makes their "rebel against the gov'ment" sensors fire all at once.
Nope. I won't.
That user is probably saying that they shouldn't be roguelikes/lites to begin with
they're literally retarded, actual answer.
Use the SkyUI mod.
