It's a bit more complext and he's good as a character because
>He has a lot of information about the setting and it's relevant for him to share it because of his personal context, you learn a lot about his culture because of how it affected him through his homosexuality
>He has a proper reason to follow you and help you due to his history with the villain
>His position isn't blindly moralized and you can legitimately disagree with his choices
>His context actually argues against the choices he made, as he runs from his familial responsibility because he's gay and doesn't want to raise a child in the same loveless circumstances he grew up in, but Felix also exists and completely destroys this excuse
He's narratively relevant and his homosexuality isn't just some badge he wears, it's consistently relevant to the character and their interactions.

I played the shit out of it on PS3 back when. I played it wrong, thinking it was like Origins. I did all the side quests and everything I could to get the 'good' ending. And I got bored out of my mind. By the time I finally beat the game I was overleveled, uninterested in everything going on, and as it turns out, there was only one fucking ending.

Inquisition was isappointing.

This is kind of extreme, 2 is absolute dogshit whereas Inquisition is just shit

No, DA:I is objectively worse, the only thing that's decent is the environments (and of that, only the artwork, level design is fucking abysmal)

Sound is worse, models are somehow worse, animations are far worse, gameplay is a complete joke. Then the most important aspect of an RPG; writing, is a complete atrocity in DA:I, characters are literally retarded all the fucking time from start to finish, the introduction is an ungodly abomination of the most absurd stupidity imaginable and it doesn't ever get better.

Characters only ever get worse, and the biggest example of this is that fucking dread wolf elf who goes from encouraging you questioning everything to sperging out over being questioned.

Yeah, at least inquisition had some truly beautiful environments, though they were wasted on the quests you did. The emerald graves was a really nice location that you had no reason to ever go to
