The whole point is that the internet and modern society is inherently driving people into insular communities that only let in filtered information that is good for them or makes the other side bad. It was directly calling out SJWs and the alt-right over a decade before they'd form. The fucking final part of the game is Raiden breaking out of the system that fed him information his whole career and going out into the world to decide things for himself for a reason.
