We know how to play and despite being the same people we are changed hence the communities have changed.

youtube.com/watch?v=v1fmG7eqm6E

The internet changed
Streamers
Corporate greed

It was and remains a huge success

It didnt.
But it killed the private server community for vanilla.

People can say how much its failed but ultimately people will only play classic and not an alternative ran by fans or scammers that can atleast manage their servers better.
Its ridiculous I am nearly nostalgic for nostalrius and yearning for something like it again with 10k server pop.

I wouldn't say it failed but it was a really short-lived idea. Like, what was the plan going forward? Were they just going to stop adding content once they reached where Burning Crusade normally would have happened? Were they going to make new content for it and essentially reboot the series? What was the the long-term plan? They couldn't have expected everyone to be forever happy with the content that only existed in vanilla WoW.

It didnt

twitch.tv/ogtucker/clip/MiniatureRudeYakPastaThat

It literally didn't.
When retail launched it had more soul then the last 3 expansions of Retail combined.

YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T

they should add new content, something like osrs would be good, but i really doubt its going to happen because of how retarded classic community is
#nochanges #iwastemylifeonsomethingthativebeendoingforlast15years

server population, i ended up on a 99% horde server

this, for the love of god, i hope they dont do the same to wotlk

It didnt, its just a bunch of casual shitters crying about "muh minmaxing" "ruining" MMOs.
In reality these crybabies are just salty over the fact that they cant just breath through their mouths, not know anything about the game and still be considered average.
They dont want to put in effort to improve, they just want everyone to be on same shit-tier as they are.

they're going to do TBC. are you just pretending to live under a rock?

Cause it wasn't vanilla

1. Everyone has already done it
2. Bots, like there is a large botting problem in this game.

>1. Everyone has already done it
wrong.
>2. Bots, like there is a large botting problem in this game.
not as bad anymore. they've been doing massive banwaves.

I think there's one private server but the pop was low 1k~. I'd play again in nostalrius

>they've been doing massive banwaves.
In slow waves and how much will that really change

>In slow waves
user, they banned over 100,000 people in the past 2 weeks.

If you were good you would not need to minmax.

epic my dude
epic for the win

It didn't. People just thought it was gonna be the second coming of Jesus. I'm still having fun playing with my guildies. In general it seems like the minmax community are the ones disappointed with the game. Maybe the problem is you.

Background on myself: Started wow in nov 2004, stopped playing retail in 2010 and played nothing but private servers until classic came out. I had never gone more than a week or so without playing wow until this year. I also have a large youtube following for WoW content (over 300k subs and 500m views)

Wow classic was a massive blunder due solely to nu-blizzard and refusing to employ private server pioneers. That's literally it. It should have been a 1:1 replica of original classic's major patches. Meaning the game should've been as hard as it was then, we should've had unupdated gear on launch, MC should've been hard. Instead a group of 57's in questing greens killed ragnaros in like 4 days of launch.

Just to name some features that fucked the game up drastically:
>Using an updated client with unseen bugs/exploits
>Layering
>Pandering to live streamers instead of beta testing with actual thinking human beings with knowledge on the proper mechanics of the game
>allowing politics into wow that aren't native to the game itself

I'm sure there are more reasons but honestly I stopped playing classic wow 3 months in and I haven't even thought about the game since. This was my last chance for wow/blizzard and they truly let me down and have destroyed my interest in something I've loved for nearly 2 decades. The void left from wow has since been filled with things, honestly, I enjoy more than I did the game. I'm sad to see it go but I'm glad blizzard is failing, they deserve nothing but loss.

we tried to tell you it wouldn't be the same because people are different now than they were back then.

Wow I can't possibly imagine why an older version of a game in a solved genre didn't hold people's interest for very long

the game wasn't actually difficult back then, everyone was just keyboard turning retards. private servers were overtuned on purpose and weren't accurate to vanilla.

but it is holding people's interest. it's still massively popular.

I'm playing it right now. 31 Druid

That's where you're wrong and I don't know if this post is bait but I'll humor you. The version of wow that we got had nerfed bosses and buffed gear in it. IF you simply read back thru the patch notes you'll see that this is wrong. Private servers themselves did over-tune bosses and those challenges were great but the original challenges of classic wow were still more than what we got. Much much more.

>the original challenges of classic wow were still more than what we got. Much much more.
No, that's wrong.

So your post was bait, here's your final (you) gamer.

how are you enjoying no1 to level or do dungeons with because of boost cucks

is this a spambot

This is the same seething cope you see from every classicel. It's the same as it was in the final patch of the game. Same dumb, boring shit, same easy but time consuming gameplay that has been made into a linear pathway by math nerds.

You'll never go back to being a kid or a young 20-something. You'll never experience Azeroth for the first time again.

It wasn't bait, your memory is just faulty. It's okay, we all get tricked by nostalgia sometimes.

Because people didnt actually want it. They wanted to go back in time.

>2004, stopped playing retail in 2010 and played nothing but private servers until classic came out
God dam, I stop playing wow midway through wrath, I can't imagine anyone being addicted enough to continue to play wow since vanilla.

it's only popular between private server autists. which is a success, really, because now those players found a reliable and official way to play their favorite game.
tourists and normies quit classic months ago.

min-max autism. Same reason why OSRS is shit.

man i wish they'd do fresh osrs servs without all the new content at first, game seems like a slog to start now

The game wasn't hard, it just asked a bit too much out of 40 random retards. Things got hard around AQ/Nax, when you had huge gear checks on top of the base "don't be retarded" requirements.

Those people downing Rag weren't just random scrubs put together out of sheer happenstance. They were friends with years of experience in the game, who just so happened to be determined to take Ragnaros down as a world first.

The ones that followed already knew the ins and out of the game as well, the hardest thing about Vanilla was finding a good guild.

Granted, I started playing in 2005 and only got to Rag with my guild a couple patches before TBC, but they were a bunch of brain dead spics. I had successfully pugged most raids by then.

>it's only popular between private server autists
No, that isn't correct. The game is significantly more populated than the private server base has ever been, and has multiple servers that dwarf nost's peak population.

You literally have no proof that MC, for example, was ever nerfed. The gear was improved, yes, but the raids themselves were largely untouched. I already proved some faggot who said that world elites were nerfed wrong by providing actual vanila video vs classic, can do this again.

Turns out home was a broken home.

what is the point in outright lying? i started my first character 2 weeks ago and never had any problems finding randoms to quest/level/instance with

>purpose and weren't accurate to vanilla.
I see blizztards are still pushing this false narrative. I bet you'll argue that private servers weren't using the EXACT 1:1 server settings as Blizzard did 20 years ago so it's not accurate to vanilla. When people say vanilla they refer to the Original WoW not the original server side settings you son of whore.
Private servers were Vanilla and the server settings were changed because 10,000 people were playing in the same server.
On the other hand, Classic is a literal REMAKE of the original game on a new engine. Not the same game, it's sure fucking shit not vanilla WoW.

Solved game. Retards said we were retailcucks for telling them Classic wasnt going to be a time machine and we were called fools.

metagamed as fuck

You don't remember all the teleporting chink bots and slavs towards the end and the """"devs"""" siding with them saying they love multiculturalism? Fuck nostalrius

>went to azshara
>level 60 hunters botting the nags
>went to charred vale
>level 30's botting around killing mobs
They didn't ban enough of them.

It failed to re-create the magic of the original WoW launch because the game had already been solved by private server autists. I did have fun going back, getting to 60, and doing a few runs of MC and Ony. But I quickly realized that I did not want to raidlog just to progress and I didn't want to wait months for more raids to come out so I just called it quits. It was a nice nostalgia trip.

>log on for 2 hour once every 7 days to raid
We're home bros.... we made it....
