ugly but good game

Worse visuals than 1 and a lot of shitty bosses. The DLCs were amazing though so it's worth getting thru it.

>Ugly visuals except for some areas.
>Good diversity in builds.
>Bosses are way easier than in DkS1.
>Areas are about as hard.

A lot of frustrating and unfair shit, and the worst bosses in the franchise

>playing sotfs
you fucked up

The worst level design
Unfair terrible mob placement
Piss easy bosses with no mechanics other than swing left and overhead swing
Terrible game mechanics such as massive 8 directional movement “snap” / huge dead zone
Adp (lol)

Could’ve been the best souls game in terms of after / zone variety but game designers fucked it

SotFS: 10 dollars
>DS2 + DLC: 40-60+
Hmm

Unironically the best in the series for playing through the main story. Less janky than 1 and more fun to look at than 3.

If you stop every now and then and look around you one of the best unintentional comedies in gaming.

its a very good game
one of the hardest souls game as well
filtered casuals ITT are just too retarded to play it

it's almost the same

The DS2 + DLC bundle used to go on sale for $10 too, sucks that they recently stopped, but it's ridiculous to not have bought this game years ago anyway.

progression of items and some changed enemy spawns
if anything i prefer the original vanilla balance and spawns

SOTFS has ugly color filters and garish jacked-up contrast, several areas are visually ruined, most importantly Majula and Heide's Tower of Flame.

There are no problems with SotFS except for Iron Keep, which was always ass and the worst area in the game

>can't even see the sun in Majula in SotFS because it blends into the background
Yikes

Harder enemies, weird scenarios and cool magic spells.

DS1 > DS3 > DS2

>DS3 > DS2
no

Without a doubt.

Fun unless you're an autist that gets triggered by every little issue. Also the best pvp in the series bar none.

Most replayability and actual additions/changes to subsequent ng+ playthroughs

It's a good game. I feel it's the only one that has an incredible potential for any weapon you use, and, make a build of any choice. I did a poison broken sword build for example. Still viable

>I did a poison broken sword build for example

To be fair, poison works with almost everything in 2 because it actually fucking deals damage unlike 1 and 3.

Ds3 is dogshit

>soul memory
>adaptability

Attached: 1588458546837.jpg (455x628, 21.81K)

Both are easily dealt with if you're not a buffoon.

There's a lot of ambushes but if you're very cautious, they shouldn't be a big issue. Also level ADP until you get 96 AGI.
Poise isn't as strong as in DS1, just wear armor that looks the best.
If things seem too difficult, grab a Rapier and upgrade it as much as you can.

Or, I could play any other soulsborne game and have an infinitely superior experience.

>Poise isn't as strong as in DS1, just wear armor that looks the best.

It's not as strong but that doesn't mean you should ignore it completely, this isn't 3 where only heavy weapons need to give a shit about it. Even shit like casters and light armored faggots could use some poise.

You mean mash R1 and parry?

>playing backstab souls 1 or roll souls 3
>instead of varied builds and fun pvp 2

I love games that give you a large variety. Still my favorite by far

a worse game

weird, i got 300 hours in darksouls but only have like 60% of the achievments

think i never fully upgraded dogshit like enchanted weapon +5 and whatnot...

You're best bet is looking them up, I can't recall how well the game explains exactly what soul memory does but it does fuck all to explain or show you what adaptability does.
It was fine in DS1, and easily tested by just wearing heavier and lighter stuff.

Best offensive build variety in the series, other than that, bosses and areas that are utter shit compared to the first game. Aside from that, it has one of the best moments in the Souls franchise and the DLC bosses are great (mostly).

Unironically a game with soul
Enjoy it whole you can because its absent from ds3

more of the same shit

Basically this plus the game looks like shit. There's more build diversity and some of the areas are pretty interesting but they fucked the visuals. It's not a bad game but definitely weaker than the first and third. Also don't listen to what anyone says about pvp being better because it's more balanced. Anyone that says that didn't play for the year when it was the most broken and retarded.

Agility, sure, I'll give you that it's vague on what it does, but 2 has those orange borders around areas you can warp to if a lotta players have that soul memory there, and it's fairly generous for stuff like invasions and co op.
Also 2 does rolls better imo, there's technically only 2 rolls, regular and fat, but you get more distance with less weight and you can still get decent iframes with fat if you have decent agility. Better than just making everyone want to have as low weight as possible like 1.

It's way easier and the use of anything other than swords of all kinds, except for UGS and GS which are fucking meme, and spears is a viable option

>best moments
I've played through the game like 4 times and whatever you're talking about doesn't come to mind.

Nibba the pvp is better right now, after all the broken shit was toned down. Like of course havelyns were cancer but you never see them now, hell, you didn't see them until high soul memory anyway.

Meeting Vendrick for the first time and Sir Alonne’s bossfight. Not as good as some stuff in DS1 though.

>spears is a viable option
I'm still mad at how shit spears are in 3. They have 0 variety and only the short and follower spears have different weapon arts. Weapon arts in general were a mixed opportunity to add some real diversity between different weapons in the same category and they fucked it.

I'm asking if the game does a "good job" at explaining the fact that it's your total acquired souls that dictate your matchmaking, I can't recall what it's tooltip states.
>Also 2 does rolls better imo
Lmao not in the least, just pump ADP and you can be fast rolling through everything in the PvE with the fattest gear possible. Should've done what literally every other single FromSoft 'Souls' game has done and have a few set rolls with clearly defined invul speeds to balance around. ADP was a flat-out mistake.

Curved Dragon Greatsword is unironically super fun to use

Ah, yea. I wouldn't say those are the best but they're still up there. One of the few things about 2 that I can say was truly good in my opinion.

>UGS and GS are a meme

The only bad greatswords are the ones specifically designated as "old". All the others are pretty solid especially FUGS.

Parry souls 2 can suck my dick and balls. Build variety doesn't mean shit when every fight plays the same.

An objectively worse experience, but it has its moments.

2 > 1 > 3.....it's the best souls game by far, naysayers will get mad at you for appreciating it.

Attached: 1585541946049.jpg (3300x3335, 2.5M)

They didn't explain soul memory amazingly, they didn't say the ranges and shit or anything. I guess that's an issue but I'm used to it now. Also you don't fucking fast roll with high ADP wtf are you talking about?

The looking glass knight was also really cool.

>getting parried
Sounds like you need to get gud. Or just use unparriable attacks.

>Also you don't fucking fast roll with high ADP wtf are you talking about?
The fact that DS2 gave you your cake and allowed you to eat it, too. I had to invest a shitload into a DS1 character before I could fast roll in fat fucking gear, and I'm doing it in DS2 barely halfway into a playthrough. In DS1 you actually had to juggle between choosing medium and fast rolling if you wanted heavier gear and weapons.

I mean, in 1 and 2 every thrusting weapon is brainless AF. Throughout the game, you only need a rapier, a spear or pike or whatever, and a mace/heavy shit
Fucked up the sentence, in DkS2 all the types of the weapons are viable, they don't have 5 seconds long attack wind-up animations like, say, BKGS in DkS1.

>successor to DeS and DaS
>worse visuals and controls than those

how did they manage that

>I had to invest a shitload into a DS1 character before I could fast roll in fat fucking gear

Wtf are you even talking about? You just pump endurance because it's literally the best stat in the game.

>wearing armor

???? why would you ever do that in a souls game....just dump points into END and your choice of STR or DEX, with just enough VIT to carry whatever weapon you want
