Nothing feels good

What ARPG doesn't do this that was made in the past 15 years?
If you want to play Diablo 2 just play that, have fun with the bot driven economy and the 4000 position queues to make a game though in current year.
Loot showering isn't a problem in newer ARPGs, bad itemization and most items being worthless however is one of the biggest problems and its not Diablo 3-4 exclusive. PoE and Grim Dawn both have it the same way
I enjoy seeing a pile of loot but the dopamine hit from it doesn't outweigh how awful these kinds of games are to play.
First post saddest post
>most items being worthless
this problem is directly caused by being showered with loot
My dopamine receptors do, especially considering GD is the best ARPG on the market.
So do you really enjoy having to shift through 10's of items just for the chance of finding an upgrade? Especially with how many stats GD has, that shit's a slog.
>not using filters
>even bothering with most normal MIs
>touching a green if it isn't a double rare late game
Yes, I'm new to the game, I spend a fair amount of time doing calculations in my head to try and figure out which gear is best. What's your point here?
Its even worse if there is some kind of loot trade system to allow instant reroll/mods.
Then it gets even more pointless and cludgy. Its kinda okay when you are first playing, but its gets completely pointless once you get enough MF/bosses/elites to bypass the need for the lower tier equipment.
Use the loot filter provided within the game.
There's one present in Path of Exile as well. There's your two popular modern ARPGs worth playing.
Older ones like Diablo II have mods to support filtering loot.

Its actually a huge turnoff in gaming for me. Nothing annoys me more than a constant stream of new items all of which increase atk by +1 sta+1. It makes it all feel pointless and clogs my inventory to hell. Nioh really really pissed me off with it.
That isn't even a reply, now is it?
In Nioh you might reconfigure the filter, but you are going to pick up everything so you can pawn it for spirit essence, so you can reforge your shit.
Meanwhile the genre staple is that you have limited inventory space, for reasons. It do mean you don't pick up useless trash, but its not a improvement.
Its just a fundamental flaw of the genre.
if the lights flash in the wrong way, tis generally a boring game.
>present problem to Zig Forums
>user replies with an easy fix
>call the post worthless
Go fuck yourself, asshole
Nioh just presents the problem without all the additional dangly bits that most Diabloclones use to offset it.
No truly unique items means its all just generic weapon statsticks.
No modifiers are unique enough
Having a actual combat system means the combat system itself is more reliable
Game's combat system defeats itself once you get proper access to itemization, turning a good combat game into a spreadsheet simulator to setup oneshots or be one shotted.
Diablo 1 and 2 had Unique and Set items to offset this problem. But without that its just a gigantic money sink where you reroll into okay equipment, where the Soul Reforge system also means you can upgrade that basic bitch ilvl50 rare weapon into a actual endgame weapon with some grinding.
I think its a weakness not talked about, because skinner boxes do not stand up to scrutiny.
You're talking about the issue of a single game series and applying it to ARPGs as a whole-- many of which have found ways to mitigate the problem. Bad logic
So you don't see a problem with having to filter items?
Oh my God, what is that horrific shitsplosion?
I can't get any form of wisdom from a post lacking a newline.
It shows lack of insight, and a feeble mind.
You can disagree, but if you can't express it, I feel bad for you. "muh aRPG" standard isn't a particularly deep argument unless its written.
Poe has great itemization. The problem is that you have to trade for it
No, I don't. It allows you to custom tailor the loot to your own specifications.
What someone wants to see at level 1 and what they want to see at level 99 is different.
basically
>"One man's trash is another man's treasure"
kek. kill yourself, you low IQ sophist wannabe. you've already been given more time than you deserve
yes but grim dawn doesn't
I wish it was not boring
I wouldn't say Path of Exile has great itemization.
What I will say, is that by having reforging items as a currency stack, you get rid of many of the economic problems these kinds of games have. Which means the marked price of a good item isn't set by a item of equal value, but by a value of worthwhile barter.
Addressing this actual flaw allows trading in PoE to be meaningful, which sets it apart from other aRPGs.
Great itemization but complete shit when it comes to naming them.
I still don't understand why these games just don't have less garbage drops. The game becomes more of a "Spot the actual useful items" otherwise.
Runewords and the random cube recipes really made things interesting, though.
Falling in love does
Because there is a very low chance of a good item dropping, and if you take away the trash item you'll have a situation where only every 5 boss kills will grant anything. Even though the good drops remain the same it will still feel considerably worse not getting that worthless loot shower when killing bosses.
>Use Currency as the primary method of reforging items
>LET'S INTRODUCE A LEAGUE THAT GIVES YOU A FREE WAY TO REFORGE ITEMS
The PoE devs are clowns.
love is a lie
>No, I don't. It allows you to custom tailor the loot to your own specifications.
Unfiltered until greens drops
Then greens.
Then the +X modifier doesn't matter because you can farm a boss repeatedly for same loot table, which means its possible to soul match it to +whatever value
Then Orange items eventually drop.
Its doesn't matter if drops are visible or not. That is how Nioh works.
Because then bosses would have to drop cool unique items depending on gameplay progression.
Like Severance, Lords of the Fallen, or any number of action games with some kind of inventory but a lot of drops.
This is not at all uncommon, I'm getting to a boss now, I'll post the loot after if I remember.
>play HC SSF POE
>actually have fun
fuck trading and other crutches
Still feels good
We get it. You don't like the loot system in Nioh because it's not as advanced as other ARPGs.
You can stop talking about it now.
? You talking about the names of the rares? Or uniques? I think poe unique names are pretty good and memorable. Flavor text not so much
>Nioh because it's not as advanced as other ARPGs.
?
All you do is stacking +15% damage modifiers and some flat attack bonuses until your charge attacks breaks the 99.999 cap.
Thats a lot better than most aRPGs.
>he doesn't run hardcore
Enjoy your pointless gear race.
