Why even bother upgrading to a ps5
We all complain, but the console industry sets the "standard" for all video games. So enjoy it.
they need to be 30FPS so that they can texture everything with obscenely high res textures for no reason other than being able say "WE HAVE NEXT GEN GRAPHICS!!!". Imagine how insane games would be if they stayed on lower res-graphics and prioritized gameplay.

Probably just easier to leave it at 30 as launch titles tend to be rushed and poorly tested. Sad thing; R&C1 for PS2 in 2001 ran at 60 fps.

I don't think textures are the main hog of fps. Textures take more RAM and memory throughput, but not all that much more processing, right?

Uh, I really don't get all the sequel hate. It doesn't make a game good or bad. What matters is stuff like:
* Is gameplay solid, with minimum padding?
* do they have interesting, relatable characters with chemistry between them?
* Are there mysteries, betrayals, plot twist and overall interesting story?
* Perhaps replay value?
* For those who care, any waifus / husbandos?
Etc? How is being a sequel a factor here?

Really hoping the SeX gives us the option to choose framerate over resolution. The Locheart is rumored to allow you to choose between 1080p and 1440p so thats a good sign. better experience is what you think is better experience. sure maybe i'm casual if i don't care about fps and graphix but my shitty build pc with latest gen ryzens and shit can run everything but it's not always the best. depends on everything. it's not black and white. the only real plus about pc from casual point of view is that you can pirate pretty much everything. which is what a lot of people use as a gatekeeping on themselves to scare themselves
Consolefags are doomed to play in "cinematic" framerates for eternity, with checkerboard 4k...aka blurry 1440p (if lucky)
