Like a lot of nintendo franchises, it started out with a pretty child-appropriate level of difficulty and they decided to make it easier.

qol change. has no metric on actual difficulty and you have to use something with the type effectiveness first before it's spelled out like that
rotate your mons so you use different team. also, this isn't a problem if you don't sit there and grind to overlevel trainers.
you can still do nuzlocke personal challenge runs.
cutscenes have no barring on difficulty either. go back to genwunner

It does have a metric on difficulty as everything is spoonfed to you while the sound settings are tied to a random item
Doing a Nuzlocke now is pointless as none of my mons ever even get close to dying
The amount of trainers with more than 3 Pokemon is pitiful
I do rotate my team but I dont like having all my teams overleveled which they are since EXP share gives an insane amount of exp to everyone

The EXP share thing wouldnt be an issue if the game was balanced around it. It isn't, trainers still have underleveled mons and 3 mons at most.

All these people saying 3d are stupid. Sun and Moon were great. X and Y were a little dull and omega ruby were a let down so not many people gave sun and moon a chance. They were great and gen 8 is pretty fun aside from the shitty dex cuts. But trust bro the games are fun nowadays. x and y just werent great
