people only held it on a pedestal because it was only on 360 and people pretended the PS3 nip version they imported was good

Tales of vesperia takes a long time to get good so its not the best Tales but its an okay tales

Because nobody played it and visually it looks amazing.
Nobody played the 360 version and the ps3 was Japan only forever.

Now that it's more available, people see it's a crappy story with too many sidequests and a shit ending. The cast is amazing though

I eventually dropped the game because I got sick of getting strung along by NPCs that knew the terrible secret behind Estelle's healing magic but refused to tell me for no fucking reason other than to pad out the length of the story. Shit like that annoys me more than any other lazy writing trope in existence.

it breaks the usual weeb mold for a main character, it's actually one of the best Tales games (it's not really saying much) and it has a loli pirate and milf ta-ta's.

Prior to the Alishia fags before Zestiria came out, I barely saw people talk much about Tales girls except when they were just talking about girls they like masturbating to. I don't know how it is anymore since I very rarely pop into Tales threads anymore (ever since Berseria they all seem to be about how much people want to fuck Velvet and Magilou), but people used to talk about the gameplay and characters when they talked about why they liked a Tales game.

I really, really liked it 7+ years ago, (and it wasn't my first Tales, it was my tenth), but it was pretty boring when I played it again a year and a half ago. The level design, while still better than the shit that is modern Tales level design, isn't great and there's way too many cutscenes. I didn't start having much fun until the end game.

If Vesperia didnt drip feed you everything and made the combat fun 20 hours in instead of 35-40 hours in. It would be a much better game
