I only played Z1 and Z2 with the collection, but all i know is that those 2 games are very flawed and Z1 is pretty bad.

I don't like what Zero brought to the table in general but I can't deny it's a much more consistent series than X.

Zero overall, and I say this as someone who personally prefers the X series. X6 and X7 are just too divisive.

Yeah and they're the first games of the series while the X series started off strong, fell off, and finally recovered with X8. The Zero series essentially improved with each newer game for the most part. Zero 3 in particular is a contender for one of the best games in the whole franchise in general.

what's so great about the classic series? i played the first three games and they were pretty good, but I had way more fun with the Zero games and X1, 2 and 4.

Shit taste, Z1 is a bit rough around the edges but it's still a pretty tight game, better than more than half of the X series.

Not him but I have to disagree, too much of Z1 is both flat as hell and overreliant on cheap enemy gotchas due to the small field of view, not to mention its both insanely tight and obscure as hell requirements to even A rank stages. It's definitely rough as hell.

The basic combat gameplay is tight as hell, but it has so many flaws around that, that it always brings it down. From level design to grinding, to stupid systems all around. Its a shame

X7 wasn't a very good game, user.

I like how tight the platforming is, you have to get those jumps right or you'll eat shit, only Zero got closer to that level of challenging platforming gameplay.

lol, only Harpuia's stage on Z2 has a leap of faith, that's 1 (one, uno).

I think Zero took better advantage of mechanics like wall jumping and dashing than X ever did. Chaining them all together in a speedy playthrough of a stage flows a lot better than it ever did in the X games. It's just too bad it was held back by being on such a tiny screen.

Zero/X are faster and more action oriented, while Classic puts more of an emphasis on platforming.

You mean the franchise as whole then? Because the only series that get shit on for having leaps of faith is MMZ, and that series only has one single leap of faith in Zero 2, if you think that Classic or X have leaps of faith then you're an even bigger shitter than I thought.
