we already had this thread. next
So what would the Zig Forums version of this look like?
Ah yes, nothing bad happened in spore that wouldn't warrant the caution of the right
:)
Go outside sometimes
Name masterpieces with below 70 critic score on Metacritic. I'll start.
I unironically enjoyed Spore but that's probably cuz I was a kid and didn't know any better.
I think something they really did right was giving that idea of scope if nothing else.
>XD
You fucking faggot! Get off of my board!!
Basednboys be like
[insert sonic game]
> tfw it's impossible to discuss the best Pokemon game of all time because of faggots who still won't let go of this unfunny meme
You deserve Sword and Shield.
I'm amazing it took this long for doge to be ruined once again, but this meme format did it.
Thanks reddit.
Right happened strictly because we relied on left too much.
>Spore
>"It looks like a great game, I'll buy it."
I mean, before EA raped it to death, sure.
Spore was trash.
>People still buying games based on the box art by the time spore came out
No.
>the whole game is just hallways filled with repetitive battles that can't be skipped
yeah, no
That could be used to describe literally any turn based RPG. XD is at least one of the best in its genre.
Games are rated on a 7-10 scale. Any score below 7 risks losing access to review copies with the publisher. Having to wait for release day to play the game and then write a review is the best way to become some obscure outlet that no one cares about anymore
And that's just generally speaking. There are reviews that are literally paid for, which gives you some variable amount between 9-10 with 10s being reserved for the actual good games. So basically, you're looking at 9-10 being the actual scale for any game that got funded (almost all AAA do for major publications like IGN)
It follows that dipping below a 9.0 average is indicative of problems, at least for paid review scores.
Spore was shit.
this pic implies they never knew what was missing from beta, ignorance is bliss.
>you will never ever be persuaded to take a chance on a game you've just picked up for the first time at the store and read the box covering
I don't think anyone realizes how much innocence we've lost.
Gamers now mostly buy games when they go on sale or when an eceleb plays it.
muh corona
You could have used a good game as your example for the past, because you just proved why buying something for the cover isn't a good idea.
both ideals are shit
>gee this SPORE game looks great, I'm gonna buy it
poor naive bastard....
Critics hate Japanese robots
I've been persuaded to take a chance on obscure shit on Steam just from the Steam page. That at least has trailers and reviews on it. I don't miss browsing physical games. At most you'd get 3 ant sized screenshots on the back and a tiny blurb of text, and that's if it wasn't locked in a case that you can't open without the employee. I've taken a chance on way more stuff on Steam than I ever did back in the physical days.
C O N S U M E
>I don't think anyone realizes how much innocence we've lost.
Everyone experiences growing up. Everyone experiences things from their childhood changing radically.
Once upon a time, there were phone operators. Back then, phones weren't a slick flat plate you put in your pocket, but a wooden box in your chicken that you'd have to pick up the receiver and dial the operator to connect you to another person. Can you imagine, when they added the rotary dial? Of course, there weren't internet forums back then, so you couldn't post to one "I can't believe how much innocence we've lost", but people thought it.
It's actually fun now
what the fuck really? this game is really damn fun especially when you start to unlock all the neat stuff
These two games were hyped to hell and back. They were the cyber punk of their time and the amount of shit removed on release was damn near criminal. Just further went to cement never blind buy an EA game.
How do you think I feel about Metal Wolf chaos? It's all the same.
>Custom Robo
I didn't learn till years later but apparently this game was actually popular and I wasn't the only person who played it.
I never followed the hype back then, got B&W just because it sounded interesting and I had some fun with it.
What was promised? Was it "You can do anything"?
They should just move to tag based scores instead of point based, people like games for what's in there anyway and scores are fucking travesty.
Like, this game contains CORNY PLOT, ANIME BOOBS, MICROTRANSACTIONS and TURN-BASED BATTLES.
People who are into this shit will praise the game and people who aren't will bash it anyway.
this is legit my favorite 2020 meme
Yeah we didn't know to buy a magazine with reviews after the whole industry crash thing. We just wasted money on cool covers...
you have gachashit for this questionable sort of experiences these days
yup
>people still spout this retarded meme
now THIS is cringe
Spore was the greatest disappointment of all time and shitloads of people pirated it day 1 because it was nothing like what we were promised and even had invasive copy protection bullshit.
This is the only game I would play at my cousin's house that had Gamecube. Fucking excellent
Didn't people hate spore when it came out because it lacked a lot of features and it only became popular because of zoomers who didn't understand what the game was originally supposed to be?
not a good comparison, most gacha is actually decent so you're not really risking a bad time
>the metacritic
>the
ESL hands made that image
>beated
wtf is this zoomer meme shit?
So many underrated kinos on Gamecube
>ESL hands made that image
obviously, no american liked spore
the esl makes it better
SOUL, you wouldn't get it since you're a newfag..
fuck off
>teens
>360
>amazon
triggered hard
I vaguely remember spore going down in history as one of the most disappointing games of all time
>no american like a shitty game
So was this supposed to be an insult?
dunno about promises i was too young to know much about it on release but when my dad brought it home i loved the game so much i played it for a month straight and the deathhhhhhhhhhhh voice gave me nightmares
