Dude what? I know we like to meme on TLoU a lot but nobody is pretending like modern law exists. The only laws that stick around are the ones you can actually enforce. Joel wasn't willing to roll the dice with his new daughter to maybe save humanity. Abby wasn't willing to understand that the Fireflies were gonna chop out Ellie's brain and that's why Joel killed her father. And Ellie wasn't going to understand that Abby was avenging a her father who was a doctor that genuinely wanted to save the world who died because the girl who might be able to make that happen is protected by someone who would do or kill literally anything to defend her. It was never about justice or whatever you're talking about, it's about people trying to protect or avenge the people close to them.

I could never be the doctor in this situation. Sacrificing a pure child to save the world? that's a world not worth saving, then. Utilitarians need not reply to my post.
