Why are all the ninja games so damn hard?

Because only the most commited can follow the bansenshukai...

shit game with brief moments of fun. bullshit final boss. boring look levels, boring enemies, annoying boss fights. 4/10

GG

its a bad game dude. if it was a good game there would have been a 360 or ps3 game but it was that shitty.

the voice acting was terrible. most of the boss fights were shitty or stupid. a lot of the levels are ugly and devoid of any sort of life. most of the enemies are generic and look like they could be from any mobile app game. most of the songs were shitty (there were 2 decent ones)

I only picked it up because i thought it would be a good ninja gaiden sort of game but it was just a clumsily made platformer that was probably made by 5 people in half a year. its terrible.

I can understand your disappointment if you were expecting NG, Shinobi's combat is much simpler since the game wants you build up Tate , oneshot everything and gobforward as fast as you can. You're still a faggot though.

even if you arent expecting ng, it is a clumsy game. It lacks polish. Everything about the game reinforces to the player that it was made as cheaply as possible and none of that is effected by anyone expecting ninja gaiden. It was a low quality game. the enemy models are ugly. The sound effects are bad. The levels are repeated washed out blurry reused assets peppered with instant death pits. When you die from a pitfall or trap you dont want to replay the entire level up to that same point, because everything preceding that was boring. in those moments you dont even ant to replay the level to "get good" because nothing about the game is interesting enough to bring you back into playing it.

The only level that really impressed me was the japanese dojo level for lack of a better term. It isnt that the combat was simple. it was clunky and felt rough. a lot of the enemies were boring to fight and, and a game like that becomes repetitive fast. Flying eyeball monsters? floating monoliths you need to break to get to the next level? It felt like stock assets. that entire game is the sort of experience you would expect to find nowadays on the app store for like 5.99 from an unknown chinese company. most of the levels lacked imagination or any sort of artistic inspiration.

Tate as a concept is cool and i like that as an idea, but it is also a bad gimmick to railroad the player with for an entire game. It isn't a good idea for a main character and would better suit a secondary unlockable character. In a game that has as many problems as shinobi, the tate system only made the game seem worse. it already suffers from things that make it unfun, now you have to do it "timed" and you also have to play the game in an incredibly specific way. if it had pretty or impressive levels like other games or more interesting or polished enemies i wouldnt quite so harshly about it, but it made a niche game even more unlikeable. the game is mediocre.

THIs bad boi right here.

It's flawed, but I think it's pretty great. It deserved a sequel that expanded on it and polished it instead of just the cheap inferior game that Nightshade/Kunoichi turned out to be. It's nothing like DMC or Ninja Gaiden, and it's better for it. Its distinct pacing is part of the appeal. It has a myriad of issues, but I still think it's an underappreciated gem that suffered from SEGA underselling it themselves.

Now post the best Shinobi
