gotta tackle this, this is the hill I would die onI envision an large expanse that is basically divided up by levels devoid of loading screams, all integrated in the traversal of the map. When you head off in a direction you play through a string of stages as you work toward the edge of the world. Knuckles Seems like the stellar choice to me, he can become quick, he can use spin dash, he can climb up walls. I can see a good 200 objects spread throughout an open world and unlocking super and then hyper knuckles transformations..... I digress

Based OP, I only wish there was a remaster without the bugs, but its a really good game. Wasn't one of the console's version of this game superior to the other or something?

Reminder that expert mode is the best way to play this game because it's pure platforming to reach the goal, no objectives (central city aside)

Tonal accuracy to the original Japanese scripts is unimportant? I think the more adult tone is a much needed change that Sonic needed in the west, and the complete dropping of it is crying shame.

Gameplay is more consistent than SA2’s gameplay styles. I don’t mind the ice physics. Most levels are well designed for clearing multiple objectives by being long and expansive (Lost Impact and Mad Matrix are big outliers). Being able to choose a path based on your choices was an interesting concept and reminds me of Star Fox. Although the story itself is a mess, I like seeing the different scenarios from the different paths. Huge replayability. Kickass music (though I guess that goes without saying).
