the only good MGS game
The only good MGS game
Aris Agrees
Nah, I tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago and it's pretty shit. The graphics suck, the voice acting is cringe, and the gameplay is bullshit. You constantly get caught by offscreen enemies. It's like Hotline Miami 2 but worse.

100% unironic. I've been trying some classic PS1 games since I figured out how to get retroarch set up. I liked Silent Hill 1. But MGS is just janky garbage.
Bros my first experience with MGS series was with V and a Snake Eater Demo on 3DS, ignoring all the MGS games on my PS3 and Vita is my biggest regret, my only hope of playing them is If they manage to release a Metal Gear collection on Switch without Kojimbo
wtf bro? just get a PSX emulator on your PC no matter how shitty it is you can easily play it
MGS2 was released on PC
if you cant emulate PS2 its very taxing then just get Citra and play thru it
>You constantly get caught by offscreen enemies.
How to get Mei Ling angry in one sentence.
>You constantly get caught by offscreen enemies
wait til you play MGS3
Doesn't Subsistence have manual camera control? I want to play it but I don't have a gamepad with analog buttons.
Well I'm able of emulating Sega Saturn so PSX and PS2 can't be that hard but what I really want is being able to play them on a handheld, the thoughts of skipping the collection on vita and eventually giving away my vita to a classmate I don't even talk to anymore when I was 15 makes me wanna punch myself real hard.
The AI is just super horny in MGS3, you'll get caught by a guard two floors below/above you
The only good metal gear game not just solid
>tfw can't save Meryl because fingy hurt
Turbo button. The game says it’ll know if you’re using a turbo controller but it’s bullshit. Just mad catz that bitch
this
MGS3 destroys MGS1 and every other game in series, no contest.
>Plot entirely reliant on the fact that Kojima didn't understand the basics of genetics.
>Soft reboot, basically a re-imagining of MG2.
>Short, completely linear level designs, basically corridors.
>Constant interruptions by cutscenes and codec calls.
>Very few stealth mechanics (for reference, Thief: The Dark Project was released that same year).
>Ugly as sin, even by the standards at the time.
>Plagiarised main theme.
>The precursor of "movie games".
You may have enjoyed it as a child, but the game aged like sour milk.
They really shouldn't give retards Internet access
Oh forgot to add.
>Plagiarised main character.
>Saved in translation - basically every memorable line is not present in the Japanese version, including its signature vocabulary - for example, the Codec.
OP here, posted the wrong image by mistake. This is what I meant to post, my bad
>wrap your thumb with your shirt
>violently rub the action button like a lesbian crack whore
Works everytime.
i disagree
>The game says it’ll know if you’re using a turbo controller but it’s bullshit
Really? You think somebody would just go into a video game and tell lies?
I prefer MGS2 and MGS3 for various reasons, mostly because they tend to keep a tighter focus on sneaking than MGS1 does. I prefer MG2 and GB to MGS1 for the same reasons. MGS1 is a very iconic game, though. I remember my first playthrough of MGS1 much clearer than my first playthroughs of the vast majority of games I played.
Typical fucking Vlet secondary.
That's MGR, not MGS; you goof.
MGS1 isn't ugly at all. I only played it about a year ago and visually it's aged really well for a PS1 game.
I believe their are issues emulating MGS2 due to lack of pressure sensitive buttons, unless of course you’re using a PS2 controller.
Extremely wrong.
MGS2 was good too. Everything after was dumbed down.
As far as I know, based translators saved MGS1 and 2. Kojima had no idea what he was trying to explain, translators got the context and did a great job at localization. Japanese versions are way worse and have no iconic dialogue. Then that faggot kojima fired the translator. He is nothing without his co-writers and localization crew.
