I never understood the hate for this game. It was wonderful with many things to do and you could play with buddies.
But for some reason people said the stages suck and that 3D Land was better in every way.

Literally this. I skipped the game at launch for 2 reasons

>It wasn't a "true" 3D Mario like I was hoping it would be after the Galaxy games (turns out I actually didn't want the 3D Mario since I got Odyssey)

This game is brilliant and I, honestly, have/had more fun playing this than I have with Odyssey.

It's more imaginative, it's better visually, level design is tighter.
The camera still fucking sucks in both games. But when you get used to it you see that everything else is fantastic.

its pretty fun. i started playing again for the first time since 2016 according to my save file. im going to try to get everything all the stars, stamps etc.

It's because Zig Forums has no friends to play with. I played 3D world with my girlfriend during the start of our relationship and will always have nostalgia for it. We 100%ed it together.

3D World has a great classic Nintendo level design when you can learn a mehanic from the level and continue or try some challenges with collectables. It's far from my favorite Mario games, but at least not everything its lost for the franchise.

it's a lot of fun, especially co-op, but I'd still say Odyssey is the better game overall.
I'd like to see a 3D World 2 in the future.

3D Land is excellent but yeah, 3D World went above and beyond. It's incredible.

i wish i got to co-op this properly. i tried to get my friends to play this with me, but they all sandbagged and trolled until they quit. samething happened with ultimate alliance.

Because the level design was shit and 3D land was better plus it had less expectations because it was a 3DS game. I'm glad the series is dead though. Fuck them for trying to turn 3D mario into NSMB.

I don't think Mario has had a masterpiece since Galaxy 2, and Mario 64 before that

I used Toad for most of the game but switched to Rosalina once I unlocked her. Being able to attack at any time is really useful.

You and I are of the same mindset. Aside from Mario 64 and Galaxy 2, there has not been a 3D Mario game I'd call a masterpiece. Sunshine was a disappointment, Galaxy 1 was good, but overhyped.
