If the game was good on its own merits and the protagonist happened to be a tranny, fine. If it's a story-heavy game where the protagonist being a tranny is the main point of the game, I wouldn't touch it.

Because it was confirmed in the DLC, people had already talked about the base game for a long time. Precision platformers don't exactly generate strong long-term discussion. Hell even other genres have that issue, you need some kind of other extra appeal for people to keep talking even long after they've finished the game.
