Prince of Persia

This game failed because the only female was not white. Any other reason?

I beat this game in one sitting. It took me 15hours.

>Half the game was backtracking to pick up orbs
>All combat including bosses were shitty and annoying QTEs
>Parkour was even more automated than the previous games
It failed because it was fucking garbage to play.

no, it failed because they completely retconned the lore just for this game. elika is white btw, a deliciously brown med. i could smell the intoxicating aroma of coconut balm from here

One of the favourite game of my younger years.
I loved the feeling of the game, the music was pretty good, and the visuals too.
I hope similar games will come out in the future.

I absolutely loved this game

hating on Elika. Truly one of Zig Forums's worst moments

it was repentitive and the combat braindead
art and nearly everything else were great though
also Elika is top tier u fag

The game sucked ass and the boss fights were disgusting. You can't beat them unless you fight them in a certain predictable way

I remember buying this at launch when I was a kid and then when I realized it wasn't a continuation of the sands of time series, I put it down and forgot about it forever.
Prince of Persia was never good until sands of time and it hasnt been good without them.

The platforming was way too on rails. It was like a series of button presses akin to a rhythm game rather than actual gameplay and platforming.

you cannot die. no matter what/where/when/with whom/against whom/against what you are doing, you cannot die. it's a movie, a filthy movie. you cannot die, there's no challenge, it is impossible to die.
it's an can't-die-while-you-do-on-rails-parkour: the movie.

Developers like to adhere to standards of inclusion these days and people like OP must be why. He doesn't see a White person in a video game and he absolutely loses his mind. Devs assume other groups must be the same way but most aren't.

>failed
in what way? yeah having no sequel sucks, but ubisoft was too busy with the movie tie-in after 2008 and attempted to make bank alongside it with forgotten sands.

mattes left for wb soon after and the rest is history.

It was very repetitive and didn't live up to its predecessors. That said, it was still extremely comfy and Elika is a qt. I will happily be the one guy that defends this game to the death.

Game was bad

Except the parkour, you are right

Best game in the series.

Carpets THIS thick

I never understood this criticism. It saves you from just hitting the “continue” button. Games today just put you at a checkpoint anyways. Would getting kicked back to the game’s main menu after failing a platforming sequence make the game harder or better in any way? Genuinely asking.

Buy an OG xbox and play the original trilogy.
Much better games

I liked it.

This game was fun.

this is not part of "today's games" , back in 08 games were still games not on rails movies like today. knowing that, the practice of "you're just put back to the nearest checkpoint" was not as prevalent as today, if they occurred you would have lost something (XP, items gained after the checkpoint, boss HP resets, used potions remaining used etc etc). it was not as black and white as today and in 08 when you're surrounded by 08 type games, pulling a 2020 type game is a pos tier choice - easily stands out for all the wrong reasons.
don't forget 08 gave us dmc 4, dead space, anno 1701, brother's in arms, ninja gaiden 2, x3 etc etc. difficulty gives meaning and incentive. the lack of it makes you look through the monitor while drooling and pressing buttons.

every game back in 2008 was the same as they are now, they put you at the checkpoints, even back then.

ask me how i know you searched my entire post for keywords that hold your bias and ignored the rest? yeah a checkpoint in X3 is the same as a checkpoint in assasins creed oddysey. fuck outta here, for a moment i really thought you weren't trolling

Elika is super underrated. The game failed because it wasn't good. Platforming was lame, combat was shit, didn't even have a decent story. All it had going for it was a good art style and a hot brown girl.

It failed cuz the combat even after figuring it out was shit, couldn't die, no time rewind 7/10 which for a let's boost our brand game is pathetically low.

This game was dope at the beginning but with the endless press button, grab ring, press button gameplay I never finished it; does it get better?

Parkour was ez but I still had fun with it.

>dmc 4, dead space, anno 1701, brother's in arms, ninja gaiden 2
The difference is that those are all VASTLY different games in different genres. Prince of Persia is focused on platforming, which is why Ubisoft struck gold when they realized the rewinding mechanic was a perfect fit for the gameplay. Platforming is far more temperamental and unforgiving than games like Dead Space or DMC.

Tfw no Persian gf

>Gaming must be a stressful endeavor
>Muh meaning
>t. neet
The gameplay philosophy is nice and simple, the game is great to look at, it's minimalist with subtle highs, the sfx are great, twist ending setting it apart from the trilogy. It's flaws could've been iron out in a sequel, it's a shame the gaming community wants tripleAs only if they are Micheal Bay films
Just finished Disco Elysium a few days ago, the watercolor artstyle in that is as timeless as the cell shading in PoP

You should take a second to breathe. Being so emotional isn't helping convince anyone.

No. In fact it gets worse. The ending is Kino doe

Not dying is the same as time rewind,
