100% Agree, MGSV is solid as fuck gameplay wise, but where the older MGS games had half-decent, or at least somewhat interesting plots, MSGV had English hating not-nanomachines and SKULLFACE's awkward 15 minute jeep adventure.

Yeah I don't know where you've got the impression that TLoU2 has perfect gameplay. It's generally mediocre gameplay, there's much better stealth games, much better third person shooters, much better environment exploration games. The gameplay cycle is waddle around scaveging to try to scrounge up ammo, then try to problem solve around encounters, sometimes quite tediously.

The whole point to TLoU1 and 2 gameplay is a conduit for the characters and their story.
