can you put them barefoot?

No. The only outfit that has barefeet is the first summer event outfit and you can't wear them anywhere but in their respective events.

Can you play this game offline or is an online only game?

The main game is a platformer adventure mode. This stuff is coop survival modes basically. It has versus too but since the game doesn't have online yet, it's pretty much useless.
You can play the coop stuff solo though some maps are harder to do that than others.

The story mode is the main focus so you don't have to worry about ded game.

It's more like those n64 platformers that had a multiplayer mode, the focus of the game is the single player campaign.
