BOTW for me.

I like RDR2 but I can 100% see why the slower pace and animations dragging on can piss people off or the super restrictive mission design being detrimental to the overall experience.

But with BOTW I just can't get all the praise it gets. It's not a bad game, it has some very neat things going for it, it's fun. But people act like it's this huge came changer and I asked myself on more than one occasion is it because of the big open world being not so common on Nintendo hardware? Because I really don't get what sets it so far apart from anything else for some people.

God the writing is so juvenile and stupid. They're at the same time trying to write an outlaw character in the 19th century AND appeal to modern liberal politics. It comes off as so fucking awful and unimmersive. Every single time something like this shit comes up in the game it just pulls me out of it.

It's got the pacing of an RPG yet lacks all the stats, factions, choices, etc that those use to justify it. And instead it's just an action game.

Exact same problem as Death Stranding. These devs want the pretence of something deeper than just action but don't have the expertise in those genres. So they end up sacrificing even the action content they used to be good at.
