It helps to play 6 shit games before Judgement so your expectations are low enough to think it's good.

Agreed. I think it's awesome when that team does non-Yakuza stuff - even though I love the Yakuza series, I feel like they can stretch their legs a little bit with a story that doesn't have a shit ton of lore to deal with. I kinda feel bad for the team, as I can't imagine how complicated it is to draft up a story that remains consistent.

I think the game could have leaned into the investigations more, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly.

Spin-off with its own characters, long story, Yakuza groups are present, but no familiar faces. it's set in the present days after all mainline games (not sure about 7).
