I believe Heroic Magmaw10 in BWD was almost impossible. An absurdly low amount of guilds had him down pre-nerf, which was just a nerf to the HP of the skeletal adds. But it made the fight go from actual hell to 1shottable. To my guild's credit, I think the best we did pre-nerf was about 3%. So we were close. Next day we went in, and like I said, we 1shot the fucker and trucked the rest of heroic BWD faster than any other guild on server after that.

The DPS requirement to both kill the tentacles before they wiped the raid and actually do real damage to c'thun combined with the mana limitations of the time made it impossible.

Cata at launch was horribly balanced. I remember melee as a whole was so bad at launch guilds legit were bringing 100% ranged, not counting tanks. Blizz has always preferred ranged over melee (most online games do) but that was the worst.
