Esports will always suck because to enjoy them you have to already have a relatively high level of understanding of the game being played. Sports require you to only have the most basic knowledge of the game to enjoy watching it. I can watch Mahomes throw a 70 yard bomb for a touchdown and immediately understand why that was cool without any depth of understanding about football. If I watch someone get a penta in LoL, as someone that doesn’t play LoL, I have no idea what the fuck just happened or how cool it was without the announcers telling me. That is why esports suck and will always suck.

because esports is not local, you don't have national teams or local clubs/leagues to root for, and they're all 18 year old nerds from rich parents gaming all day so its hard to relate for most people
