Ellie, after TLOU2, is the most pointlessly evil vidya protagonist in all of gaming. She is killing dozens of people for no reason.
Walker's war crimes were awful but misguided, he at least believed what he was doing was right, unlike Ellie.
Caim was a psychopath but was at least working to save the world, rather than a revenge even he knew was worthless, unlike Ellie.
Joel's own rampage through the hospital was too save Ellie, a selfish goal but also completely understandable for his character, unlike Ellie's own much more violent rampage.
She set out on a selfish quest, got a bunch of innocent people killed, despite being mad a Joel for also killing innocent people, and then doesn't even finish the job. Ellie is the most evil vidya protagonist because all of her actions are pointless, and she knows that.
