Indie games are not real games

Indie games are not real games.

The simple fact of the matter is some guy in his bedroom does not have what real developers have: decades of experience, industry veterans guidance, a professional environment, collaboration with some of the best musicians and artists in the world, a director who was working in games before you were born and yeah...money. Money is required to make Metal Gear Solid 3, The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker, Ico, Dragon's Dogma, Resident Evil 4 etc. The only people impressed by indies are literal underage children who weren't alive when the game their favourite indie rips off came out, and people with 0 taste, people who just enjoy everything they play.

If you like indies, you're a dunce.

Just stop

My favorite game of all time.

t. AAA shill

I only care if the game is good, faggot. Who gives a shit who makes it. Your logic is the type of shit NPCs subscribe to with shit like brand loyalty.

All of the best games in history were done by relatively small teams in a rather short amount of time. Triple A cancer can go die in a fire for all I care.

This. Only corporations understand what us regular humans want.

>people who just enjoy everything they play
If you don't enjoy everything you play it's your fault for being an ignorant retard that didn't do his research before playing. No, no game can "trick" you into buying or playing it, you just didn't look hard enough. No, deceptive advertisement, while it exists, is not justification enough for you to not figure it out. You should have been able to see through it.

Cool story bro

Kill yourself.

And yet they’re still better and have more passion in them then 99% of AAA games

All devs start from square one you fucking dumb retard

Too bad being AAA is no guarantee the game will be good. You give standing on the shoulders of giants as a good aspect of AAA development but when an indie does the same it's a ripoff.

Capcom doesn't let 20 year old graduates direct games.

>Too bad being AAA is no guarantee the game will be good
AAA has the chance of being good.

Indies are 100% derivative trash that carbon copy classic games or try to drag a 10 minute gimmick into a 8 hour game.

>city slickers are not real farmers

>The simple fact of the matter is some guy in his fancy german car does not have what real farmers have: decades of tomacco planting, Seed guidance, a soil pH of 7-8 max, collaboration with some of the best feed and seed in the world, a store owner who was working on farms before you were born and yeah... gummy bears. Gummy Bears are required to make Sneed's Feed & Seed, Chuck's Fuck & Suck, S11E05, E-I-E-I (Annoyed Grunt), AABF19 etc. The only people impressed by Guatemalan cars are literal city slickers who weren't alive when the gucci loafers their favourite hobo shoes rip off came out, and people with 9.6 soil pH, people who just feed everything they seed.

>If you like Park Avenue Manicures, you're a city slicker.

Indies have the chance of being good.

AAA are 100% derivative trash that carbon copy classic games, play it safe with proven formulas, or make up for a risk with microtransactions.

Your logic is completely and utterly wrong.

Every single AAA dev started from scratch. Do you think any normal person gave a shit about Jon Carmack before Doom? Or Gabe Newell before Half Life? Or Miyamoto before Zelda?

Yeah most indie games are shit, but so are most AAA games.

There are cheap turds and expensive turds. You are either baiting or coping because you failed as an indie dev.

>Indies have the chance of being good.
Wrong. Please leave and come back when you're of legal drinking age.

If you can derive enjoyment from an indie game that requires input from a peripheral (controller or mkb) which produce a visual output (video), then you're playing a video game.

Your post is utterly retarded, but I do wish there were more good AAA games. A good indie just can’t really compare to a good game with an actual budget.

Are you kidding me. Modern devs don’t have any of that

why does this image always get used to accompany the shittiest possible takes

Name one good AAA game.

Yes they do, as does every other Japanese publisher/developer. Young ambitious talent is how we wound up with many classic games

rpg maker takes care of all the brainy stuff for you

Consider the following: Kill Yourself

I think OP is retarded but the answer to your question is Portal 2.

sneed

what's the point of sneeding if you dont sage?

I was about to make a counter pasta about how industry only makes games for profit and not about the love of games but I'm too lazy.

>Do you think any normal person gave a shit about Jon Carmack before Doom?
Carmack worked for publishers on over 20 games before making Doom:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carmack#Games
>Or Gabe Newell before Half Life?
"Newell and Harrington used their money to fund Valve through the development of Half-Life"
He was the money, not a developer.
>Or Miyamoto before Zelda?
Again, Miyamoto was working for Nintendo for decades before he was put in charge of anything.

REAL developers work their ass off as a team player at REAL development teams and publishers before creating anything themselves.

to feed and seed the thread

>Yes they do, as does every other Japanese publisher/developer
Name one

And it's why Nintendo is so stagnant in their games, it's full of oldfags that will only leave in a wooden box

Please leave and come back when you can come up with real arguments for games not being "real games".

Like all memes made with a "purpose" behind them, subhumans will adopt it without actually understanding the purpose, destroying it.

>You require experience to make games
>You can't make games because you have no experience

What are you? The employment system?

Just because you're upset, doesn't make what I say wrong. Dry your eyes and accept reality.

Is this the thread where OP makes an obviously wrong, yet outlandishly retarded claim, and then proceeds to call anyone who disagrees with him wrong or retarded until the thread gets archived? Great way to spend your time, fellas.

Get an industry relevant degree, join a company at entry level, work for them for at least a decade and MAYBE if you're worth half a fuck you'll get to direct a game.

The fucking balls on you thinking you should be allowed to direct a game as a graduate.
