WAIT, A NEW SHRLOCK HOLMES GAME!? Wtf, I was about to get into sherlock holmes shit, I even made a list of all the frogwares sherlock holmes games to play and I was going to start downloading, and a new one came out!?

Creepy.

It's not copyrighted, any old shitter can shit one out. And they do pretty much every few months

My dream game would be Sherlock Holmes vs Robin Hood. Anyone else think this would be a great crossover?

there's Sherlock Holmes vs Lupin

mfw copyright laws fucked us out of countless intellectual property to make spinoffs off of and now we have sherlock holmes and lovecraft over and over again instead of anything interesting

Fuck the Mouse.

They are supposed to be two completely different timeperiod. But it would awesome if it works.

the mouse didnt make the law, but sure as shit greased its way into court

A game about Cu Culainn would be awesome.
Especially the warp spasm part.

Ironically Sherlock is the reason the law exists in the first place because he was so assblasted Lupin beat up Sherlock that one time. The mouse just kept paying to extend the deadline.

ugh why did they made holmes a fuckboy?

because only gay faggots get addicted to opium and suck dicks for coke

I sure hope it's a return to form. Crimes and Punishments was all right because of the deduction elements, but starting with Testament the direction has gone more towards action and less about puzzles. I admittedly haven't played Devils Daughter but looking at reviews and footage like mandatory super-generic stealth missions, looks like it has gone to even more to this direction. Overall, I think vs Jack the Ripper mixed with Crimes and Punishments is the style the game should be going to.

I haven't thought of the reason why Robin Hood exists in Sherlock's time period but Robin Hood would be a great enemy
>suddenly dozens of cases of the corrupt being killed, all are proven to be in the same syndicate by Sherlock
>most corpses were killed with arrows that Sherlock proves to be master marksman shots
>press combines this information and labels killer Robin Hood and syndicate the Sheriffs
>common folk is on Robin Hoods side so Sherlock has a hard time investigating
>Robin is not a genius but clever and purely from a combat perspective miles ahead of Sherlock
>Robin is still good willed so whenever Sherlock comes close to reveal him Robin will refrain from hurting Sherlock, he just wants to escape
>when Sherlock pulls a gun Robin also pulls one revealing to have mastered modern ranged weapons
The possibilities are endless.

oh woe is us, having to come up with original properties instead of reusing somebody else's idea

Yeah turning it into a crappy open world QuickTime event game was a total step in the wrong direction.

I think open world could be cool for Sherlock Holmes but never like an Ubisoft game.

Robin Hood vs Sherlock Holmes vs Terminator!

WHO IS THIS FUCKING FRUIT??

...instead of freely building on previously established lore and expanding on classical concepts
it would be cool not to have to establish everything at a start of every project
instead of focusing on exposition of yet another eerily similar world we could instead rely on the viewer to have some understanding of it and its themes
it would also put weaker devs on some sort of a track instead of just making them come up with shit and failing like they do now
rn we just dont have options, not the end of the world but certainly not great either

>Terminator is send to kill Sherlock Holmes because his intellectual property is used in the year 2020 to make a game pandering to homoerotic audiences
>suddenly the legend of longbow himself arrives to protect Sherlock
That also would be kino.

These are the guys that made stinking shitty.

It was announced a while back

Testament was before Crimes and Punishments

At least Sherlock gets some original stories
With lovecraft, only Cthullu gets adapted

What I meant is that, while it continues the trend away from earlier point and click puzzle games even further (fewer and easier puzzles, more "action" sequences like following smell trails as Toby or whatever, that sort of thing), the deduction mechanic it introduces compensates for this loss to an extent and makes the game as a whole an improvement over Awakened even though everything else is slipping away.

yeah they're the only ones who make Sherlock games. don't let this thread die, we have more Chadlock to discuss, i had to go make dinner. I'll be back soon. hugs and kisses xoxo

btw no one is goign to mention the FISHING MINIGAME we get/?? this is fucking HUGE NEWS imo. I wonder what other fun side stuff we get to do?

>These are the guys that made stinking shitty.
Sinking City was decent, but low budget as fuck.
All their games suffer from being that half finished lower budget rushed games.

i agree, but you should play Devils Daughter if you like the sherlock games, it's really cheap right now. The cases are good but the QTE are really awful in some situations. Still if you can look past those shitty QTEs then there's a lot to like with the actual cases. The writing is pretty damn good.

I would like to even have less puzzles, less commentary and more detective work to make my own conclusions. I think that would be hard to implement but I was never a huge fan of the wonky puzzles.

I don't like obtuse puzzles for the sake of having obtuse puzzles but as you say, it's difficult to make "real" detective work make up the bulk of the gameplay and if it's a choice between bamham vision, sneak segments, QTEs, pointless running around in Ubisoft-style open world, or puzzles, then I'll take puzzles, and they don't necessarily have to be so irrelevant to the investigation. I think vs Jack the Ripper for example struck a mostly reasonable balance in that regard.
