>literally 100% improvement while KEEPING the same amount of soul
How can a franchise be so based, yet so underappreciated?

origins looked better
>make two of the best 2D platformers of all time
>kill the franchise immediately
T-this year for sure. Right bros?
Cause it’s boring
>fangame gets made
>easily better than any of the official games
Rayman Origins and Legends are two of the best platformers ever.
UbiArt Framework is fucking magical
It really didn't. I used to think so too, because Origins was really impressive in my memory, but I recently replayed both and Legends is absurdly superior in color, lighting and all the other tiny little details. Origins looks kinda flat in comparison, which is a feat given that the game is beautiful in its own right.
I don't like how fast Legends and Origins are, feels like Sonic. I like the slower pace of the original.
the colors alone prove that it isn't the same amount of soul
Legends also has far better animations
seriously, how the fuck did they make the joints/puppetry shit not look like flash garbage?
Michel Ancel is one of the unrecognized greats. Current Rayman is better than current 2D Mario.
Ryemanni just took a huge shit all over Ubisoft and created the greatest game in the series.
I don't think anyone would disagree with you. Current 2D Mario is soulless and completely lacking passion. Nintendo only gives a shit about 3D Mario.
The studio behind Rayman posted concept art indicating we might get a new game
Cross your fingers at Ubisoft Forward
Sucks Ubisoft barely uses it
I played DKCTF recently and holy shit it's so much better than Rayman Legends
It's not boring
YOU'RE boring!
what are the odds of Ubisoft pulling a SEGA and unironically hire this man?
Do you have that concept art? I haven't seen it.
I never played Tropical Freeze, but Country Returns was the only other one from around the same time that was up to par. Very smooth animations and fluid movement as well (which surprised me given that I hate the original, sluggish DK). However, Rayman is still the greatest, non-pleb choice.
It's amazing in and of itself that they can make this character so endearing even though no one could even tell you what the fuck he is.
>started career at age 17
>started working on rayman when he was 20
FUCK
You can play TF on cemu
Should definitely go for TF. Can play on CEMU and it's one of the best platformers of the generation. And get Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair while you're at it.
Not sure what's with Zig Forums comparing the two games constantly, but they're both really fucking good.
>According to him, the engine ended up not becoming as widespread as Ubisoft initially planned because “the tools were difficult to use.” Ubisoft did have greater ambitions for the engine, with Yves even saying that “at one point we wanted to give them to everybody [in Ubisoft].” As of now, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Oksaka, Ubisoft San Francisco, and the now defunct Ubisoft Casablanca are the only Ubisoft studios to have created games with UbiArt Framework, with their Montpellier studio being the main creative force behind the engine and games like Rayman Legends and Valiant Hearts: The Great War.

I have two complaints
1. It's way too easy
2. the levels with that flying faggot where you had to press a button for his action
gayman sucks
>Origins came out around the same time as Skyrim
>Legends came out around the same time as GTA V
>In this day and age of mascot platformers coming back and where Crash and Spyro are now more popular than ever, Rayman is nowhere to be seen
>Got cucked by the Rabbids for a Mario crossover
Rayman is cursed
He's fucking cursed
Origins/Legends is the definition of soulless. Get fucked you tasteless brainlet.
>Ancel wanted to make another sequel
>Ubisoft locked him up in the vaporware dungeon of Wild and BGE2
It really is. What great games.
>tfw this ends up being for Rayman Mini
I had completely forgotten about emulators. Will check it out.
Thanks bud. Hopefully something is confirmed soon. Rayman deserves better than mobile games and Rabbids spin-offs. Only cool people are into Rayman.
rayman has always been shit
By being French. No other country compares to France's autism for animation perfection.
Rayman is so cool bros. He doesn't even have limbs!
These games are so boring goddamn
Rayman 1 and 2 were good, everything else is shit
The games came later on Steam and still didn't have great success even though they were sold for really low prices. Rayman is just not a popular series, it ha nothing to do with the release circumstances.
3 was also good.
>tfw no Betilla gf
Her pseudo french makes me hard
>Got cucked by the Rabbids
This is actually the worst fate a video game protagonist has ever faced. Getting cucked by some enemy type of his games, being immensely more popular and successful.
Why do all the old games in these comparison pics have such superior shadows?
Look in OPs pic, the original game has such darker blacks and shadows. It looks great. And then the modern one everything is washed out.
It's kinda cursed due to not being extremely popular in the past. Series like Crash and Spyro are played by streamers (who, like it or not, are the greatest advertisers of the modern era) because they're seen as cool and "in," so a lot of people pretend to love them which, in turn, further popularizes the franchise. Rayman doesn't have that nostalgia bait for a lot of people, so it gets left behind. Plus, again, it's harder to understand. What the fuck even is he?
That aside, I'd argue Legends and Origins are those rare games that can be considered objectively good. You can dislike it, find it boring, childish etc., but there is so much effort put into it, such care in design and art direction, so much love that it'd be impossible and dishonest to claim it is bad. It's obviously good.
