Nier was a dissapointment in both combat and story. The characters, one of the best aspects of the original, were boring with the exception of 9S. Had they included the stage plays in the game, A2's would have had more weight and I wouldn't have written her off as some last minute addition. The combat was kinda boring too. Why is my counter aalttack a launcher? The impact of the weapons on the enemy make them feel like paper mache and there aren't that many moves to do.
Astral Chain was a little better in the combat department, but it kinda turns into tide Beast Legion to avoid 90% of damage while cast Blue Shiled whenever you can. The story was eh, which isnt new for Platinum, but it lacked the Platinum charm for the most part and took itself way too seriously for most of it.
