Battler stopped being a crying incel and took the magic pill.

He gave in to the witch

>Yeah. Magic exists.
Top 10 betrayals

Chopsticks are the perfect utensil
how can spoons ever compete

It gets even worse than this image suggests. We went from mystery and trolling in a grounded setting with some mysticism, to unironic trap characters, THE TRUTH DOESN'T MATTERand GOLDEN TRUTH > RED LOL. What the fuck happened?

What if I told you that there is a way to 100% redeem the story?

Clearly you didn't read Higurashi, else you would've seen that shit coming.

Umineko was never a mystery novel.

episode 5 best episode

Also did you really expect a "logical" explination when the game board literally gets reset every fucking time? Clearly, either magic is involved, or someone is just imagining it.

Pararappa the Rapper

Early Umineko was a mystery novel with an unreliable narrator. Saying it was never a mystery is a lie. All that shit about the truth not mattering was introduced in episode 4 when Ange hijacked the story.

for me, its higurashi chadter 3

This time I'll just read the first 4 episodes of Ciconia and cut my losses as soon as I hear the word Answer

>you gotta solve this battler and come home
>detectives authority
>mystery novel commentary and references
>Its not a mystery novel tho, lol got em

It got way fucking better.

Watching the Higurashi anime right now. Cannot believe people have been talking about how dark this series is and focusing on the garbage in routes like Onikakushi and Watanagashi once you know what a happy series it is by the end. It's just like thinking Umineko is good before the Answer Arcs, that's what makes the start so kino.

It's a story about accepting loss, through the lense of a mystery novel. A deconstruction, if you will.

Erika is the cutest

oh my god this picture is perfect

The manga unironically solves all the problems. Umineko with the manga ending is an unironic masterpiece. I didn't fall for the "read the manga meme" when people first spouted it, it sounded like cope. I waited forever then finally checked it out on a whim and it actually fixed everything.

I'd read the manga but I'd want it physically, and that would require my own Ushiromiya gold and a dedicated bookshelf *just* for the goddamn Umineko manga.

I have the manga up to the end of episode 5 and it already takes up an entire shelf

wtf that's not real

the final chapter alone is worth it, just for ending the story in a satisfying way, instead of whatever the fuck the vn was trying to pull.

Most of the good stuff in Higurashi and Umineko is either in retrospect or in the answer arcs, or it's when the format starts to break. Ryukishi writes the best romances.

Higurashi:
>Mion and the doll
>I'll save both Mion and Shion
>Mion coming out from under the bed
>1500 seconds and Keiichi becoming a killer
>Shion's love story with Satoshi
>Shion realizing that she's the one who "killed" Satoshi
>Rena's sin
>Keiichi remembering Onikakushi
>Battle between Keiichi and Rena
>Keiichi changing destiny
>Everyone coming together for the first time
>Remembering the face of the killer
>Don't step on it!!!!!
>A world where nobody has to lose
>Finishing the collection of flags

Umineko:
>The two who are close cannot be together, even in death
>Goats vs Rosa
>Beatrice's immortal heart
>Cover your ears, Battler
>Maria's diary
>Final showdown between Battler and Beatrice
>Battler jumping out the window
>Natsuhi's sin
>Beatrice's resurrection
>Duel between lovers
>Kyrie Ushiromiya cannot save Battler
>Without love it cannot be seen
>The kidnapping of the witch
>The night of riddles
>Bernkastel's game
>Fighting to protect the Golden Land
>Closed Room showdown
>Bernkastel vs Lambdadelta
>Battler and Ange vs Bernkastel

The VN is fine if you pick the Trick ending.

>Ryukishi writes the best romances.
Most certainly not. R07 is best at writing horror and thrillers. He's garbage at everything else.

Unironically an incel or a psychopath, maybe both.

cope, magic is for goats

Are you kidding? A lot of the horror, especially having to do with insanity is shit. What makes the story actually good is the context down the line when those scenes are readdressed. He has a few good images, but the best writing is the stuff that makes you cry; not the spooky stuff.

>tfw like both mystery/horror and chuuni
