Nothin' personal

Good, Chrono Trigger had a terrible story & nonexistant characters, it was horribly boring outside the amazing music & gameplay. Cross was much better

No

why nobody remembers radical dreamers?

>gives no shits about appealing to mentally ill fanboys and just makes a great game instead
Yeah it was pretty based.

It's literally a sequel to trigger

>remembers
It's alright user, you can stop pretending to be one of the 3 english speakers that knew about the game before the translation came out in 2005.

Extremely based. Only nostalgiafag boomers think trigger is better than cross. I've played them both well after their release dates so I have a fair unbiased opinion between the two and no nostalgia "I played trigger first so it's better" bias

Cross >>>>>>>>> Trigger (this doesn't mean trigger is bad btw, it's great, just not as good as cross)

This game somehow is so shit but so soul at the same time. It’s great but what a mess

I actually still have this game sealed. I always meant to play but never did. PS2 was out for a couple years and I really just bought it because "dude anime lmao".

As the years went on I decided to just leave it sealed, maybe it'll have some value like those boxed NES games. Then it turns out Square Enix still just fucking sells new ones from their website even now and the game is fucking worthless.

So ima crack this bitch. Game any good?

Just because you weren't born before it, doesn't mean nobody else was.

Love how the game single handedly killed the whole fucking series.

>Sequel feels the need to kill off the original protagonists and undo their accomplishments so the newer, better characters can do the job right this time.

Do you like big ensemble RPGs like Suikoden? cuz it's like that. Fantastic soundtrack, took some interesting risks with mechanics to varying degrees of success, pretty decent story and fun visuals. I love it.

Chrono Cross is the ultimate pleb filter. Even the back of the CD tells you that it's a new different adventure.

Just don't go expecting Chrono Trigger 2 like most people did. summarize it pretty well.

>a few forced references
Cringe

i loved this game, story was kind of a mess, but i loved the large cast, ost, and graphics. some of the locations are so beautiful

Chrono Cross is the ALIEN3 of video games.

Is Square still selling the GH version on their site?

Yeah, that's what I hate the most, cheap plot device to make a fresh sequel. XCOM 2 was the most recent bullshit to pull this.

The opening video is the best part of the game.

But they all come back at the end of Chrono Cross, if you get the true ending none of the events of cross happens and only Serge and kid/schala remembers them.

based on what?

>game is at 1020 AD
>on ar archipelago that literally appeared right after Crono & co fucked with the timeline
OP is a retard

Cross is one of my favorite RPG's. Monolithsoft making the good shit.

fpbp

But Cross happened years after they reconned Chrono, Marle and Lucca into being killed off by Dalton in the middle of their happy endings. And it still presented their defying fate to kill Lavos as an overall bad thing. So that doesn't fix any of its stomping all over Trigger's legacy. Also:
>Story writing itself out of existence is considered a net positive.

It's Masato Kato you dunce. Monolith already quit when Xenogears was out

i played cross before trigger. I beat both. I enjoyed Cross far more.

That said, they're both phenomenal games and recapturing that magic is nearly impossible for nu-SE. I hope once this political correctness dies down in the next ten years, gaming will resurge as a unique medium again.

not him, but what does that have to do with anything?
