Zig Forums is a contrarian board that doesn’t play games so XII is perfect for Zig Forums. It’s an offline mmo with no story that does the opposite of almost everything you would expect a normal FF game to do by that point. It’s not as easy to make fun of as something like 13 because it’s not like it tries and fails it just doesn’t try but you can feel better about yourself for liking it for that and not associating with the weebs or normalfags

FF12 was a game I didn't like as a kid/teen but then loved as an adult. It really grew on me into becoming my favorite FF.

the game is supposed to play itself after you correctly set the proper gambits that are tailored for that fight. Hunts are the real meat of the game and test your knowledge of how to build a proper team. The enjoyment is setting and experimenting different gambits and watching your team pull off a synchronized battle of healing, supporting, attacking, and buffing.

Zig Forums kept hyping this game up as the best JRPG ever. With their constant memes. Saying things like how it’s better than the SMT franchise, Suikoden, Final fantasy, Chrono trigger, Etc. Then when I get the game, all I got was a generic soulless JRPG with bad writing.

You are the only one who has direct input on the combat and can dictate literally every aspect of every single fight. Maybe lurk a little more next time before posting your garbage take and 2007 tier meme image.

It's very easy to become overpowered to the point where any of these strategies don't matter. The only factor preventing overleveling is time, it's boring and long to kill every enemy you see but thanks to the speed up button you can snowball out of control without even realizing it.
If it's your first time playing and you don't know the dungeons you'll be doing some back and forth figuring it out, kill enemies each time and bam, overpowered, fun ruined.

No shit. It was a game that divided the fanbase and while it had its praise, there was a lot of hate for it until a few years ago when the people who played it as children started looking back at it with through a nostalgia filter.
