RCPS3 is our only hope. I tried to replay RDR1 on my PS3 but holy shit I can't stand that fps. RCPS3 seems to be running the game around the same fps, although graphical glitches are everywhere.

The code was a terrible mess that was barely salvaged before release, which is why RDR1 was so infamously buggy. Game was in development hell for like 6-7 years.
The only chance we had was if they would remake it within RDR2 but they seem to have gone back to GTAO so that isn't gonna happen.

If it's not because of legal reasons, it's probably because they didn't use to value PC gaming in 2011, and by the time it became reasonable to make a PC port, they were already working on the sequel.
honestly you're not missing out on much, RDR2 took itself way too seriously and tried to depict the characters in a much more "mature" and "realistic" manner and so their depictions in the first game by comparison are equivalent to cartoons or exaggerated caricatures of poorly understood stereotypes or something. the story's not great, either, and marston ends up needlessly dying because he seemingly forgot all the lessons he learned from arthur and the gang. I mean this nigga was caught during a bank heist and sent to a federal penitentiary, broken out by the only guy who saw his worth, watched his whole gang get killed or destroyed by pinkertons, and somehow he believes that if he plays their game that they'll let him go happily ever after. what a tard, and don't tell me he couldn't have just up and left with his family as soon as dutch was killed. no, he stuck around and let the cops end him and without so much as even giving the idea that he'd be double crossed a second thought? what a faggot.
Unwavering 30 fps, it completely eliminates the 360's performance issues besides the fact it only runs at 30 fps of course
640p too and what seemed to be no AA. Looked like deep fried pixelated garbage on my plasma screen. I was pissed I bought it for PS3 back then, but it was so good it didn't matter.
Rdr1 story and characters are still better, and you have more a western feel than in the second game
It really is a great game, probably R*'s best title. I grabbed a used xbone and a stack of 360 games a few months back for 80 euros, and it was worth it for RDR alone, the story is perfectly executed, on a level i've only seen MGS and ace attorney achieve. It plays pretty well too, it's much more responsive than gta 5. The writing, the music, the world, it's rare to see such a consistently high level of quality outside of first party console titles, it's definitely one of the best stories i've experienced in any piece of media.

With Arthur gone and Dutch irrevocably lost, of course the pinkertons find and use John. It’s not like he volunteered anyways, they took his family. The "bad source code" wasn't just pcfät cope. The game is legitimately difficult to port to the point where it's not profitable to attempt a next gen rerelease.

I have no glitches, but the frames can have some heavy fucking drops anywhere that's not a flat plain. Cutscenes are buttery smooth though.

As soon as the gang dissolved, this nigga tried to live as a ranch hand, to "do the right thing" by his wife and kid. That shit didn't work out so well because it turns out that you can't erase your past. The smartest thing he did was try and hide his identity, but he couldn't even do that right. He should've taken his wife and kid and ran as far the fuck away from America as he possibly could've. He could've went to Liberty City, caught a ferry to London or where ever the fuck, and started a new life under completely different aliases. Instead, this dumbass chose to buy an empty lot right outside of the town that he and the gang initially did a job-gone-awry, which was the very reason they were on the run in the fucking first place, and financed a house to be built right on top of it like that was a good idea and nobody would ever find him there. If nothing, John's a goddamn retard, and he doesn't get any smarter during the events of the first game. The moment the pinkertons took his family, he should;ve seen the writing on the wall and resolved to play their game only as long as he had to in order to get his family back, then do what he should've done years ago; get the fuck out. So yeah, it's fucking retarded, but they needed the big emotional death at the end so critics would cry tears of joy and scream, "best gaem evar!!1!11"
Truly, the performance worthy of a PS3.
