Watch a Let's Play and see if the gameplay appeals to you. Why have someone give you their biased and flawed opinion when you can just form your own opinion from your own observations? That's how I've been making my vidya purchases and it's worked out great for me.

personally games are best enjoyed when you don't know much about them, it's less fun for me when all the trailers/prerelease marketing tells you everything about them which is pretty prevalent these days. my best game choices have been ones where I just see a game mentioned frequently enough on here that I assume it is at least decent and go in knowing nothing.
