The X-Men franchise is ripe for a good rpg.

>starts with you arriving at the xavier school for the gifted
>have you spend a good amount of time surrounded by the students and teachers and going on missions
>then introduce magneto and co.
>have you start being around them more and doing missions with them
>eventually you have to pick a side and the final battle has you facing off against the side you didn't pick

It's a double edge sword, similar to Harry Potter, the setting is fantastic but most people would rather play as established characters like Wolverine or Harry.
We're probably still a console generation away from the next major X-Men game to come out when Disney puts the full might of their cock behind the merry mutants.

X-Men Destiny for PS3 and 360. really cool setup as it was an extension of Mike Carey's Legacy run but it was done by twats who made Too Human and filled up the ass crack with jank every thing.
As a time capsule of Pre Schism X-Men it's worth a look but as game stay away.
