In the options, you can set it to start up with your computer. I'm assuming that you have to have steam to set to start up as well. Also, resource wise, it's not bad. It can be set to automatically pause when playing a fullscreen video or game. And when the screen is off during idle.

steam workshop literally downloads a zip (consisting of anything) and unzips it to the relevant folder because people like you are too dumb to do it themselves
