Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines
Bloodborne
That's an actual masterpiece though
Alpha Protocol
You are, user. And I’m proud of you
DS2 and AC4
New vegas
>bad framerate
>Blood Vial farming
>can't travel anywhere besides the Dream without 2 loading screens
>very little build variety, stats are almost meaningless, might as well have gone full Sekiro and simplified the fuck out the stat system
It's a 9/10, a modded PC version would be an easy 10
I'm still boiling mad about the final act
instead you get the developers laughing in your face for taking their game seriously
i cannot think of a worse possible finish to a story than this
but everything else, the humor, the puzzles, the dialogue, the visuals, THE MUSIC, the characterization and story (at least up to the ending) is fucking amazing.
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu
Suikoden III
Final Fantasy VII
Dragons Dogma
MGS4
Compare MGS2 which is an actual masterpiece
Dragon's Dogma fits this more than any other game
Sekiro
What's the ending? Just like, lol it's a video game so none of it matters?
If it comes to PC it's place in the series will plummet down tough. It's a mediocre Souls game that's on par with DaS2 and DaS3.
have you played the spin-off?
The whistling is in your head right now
pretty much
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Blood vials. You either have too much making the game too easy, or not enough. Bad system.
Earth Defense Force 5
The song isn’t as good. Hope it’s better in 6
>For Honor
The Call of Duty to Chiv’s Arma; polished, streamlined balanced and casual fun with a skill ceiling. Then those fucking Frog leafs butchered it, repeatedly, then sold out to the Chinese, then to R*ddit and now we're half a year in and no meningful content whatsoever
Persona 5.
It's only flaw is the dialogue.
Paper Mario 64
Xenogears
It's different from a Souls game, it's definitely more streamlined and action-oriented. Also, I like DaS2 more than DaS at this point for a multitude of reasons.
Earthbound.
there's a lot of hassle the game throws you and while it's not gamebreaking it can let down a casual.
Death stranding can fill the bill perfectly now that i think about it.
You Testament unironically
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
yes
characters realize they are in a video game and nothing matters, not the murder mystery, not the strange town, not the inhabitants of the town, not their goal, not the lore that goes back years, and not the personal growth that the characters go through
the end of the game is the playable characters basically committing metaphorical suicide to "escape the game"
it also leaves a ton of mysteries and story arcs and shit unanswered and unfinished, and is literally all hand-waved away with "haha it's a game this shit is so ridiculous anyways. This is just what the writers of the game 'Thimbleweed Park' wanted lol"
I went from playing this game on xbox game pass and loving it; I was in the middle of my playthrough and prepared to buy it outright once I finished it, only to actually finish the game and be glad that I never gave the developers a penny for insulting me and my intelligence the way they did.
Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Also BOTW
viewtiful joe 2
Too fucking short, and somewhat silly
That's the problem. It's not different enough. You still have stamina based combat, you still have leveling up(When it means so little besides vitality) , you still have weapon upgrade system. I would even say what Bloodborne was intended to be actually is Sekiro. It encouraged fast paced combat way better than BB imo. I unironically enjoyed DaS3 more than Bloodborne because not only combat was mostly same but it also encorporated Souls mechanics into it without feeling out of place.
the fact that i have to play through the entire mission just to fight the bosses really sucks too
X3 (also every X game pre-Rebirth)
STALKER
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Ultima Online (pre-UO:R)
GTA Online problem?
Dwarf Fortress
Magicka
Every Civilization game after 1 admit 2 was babby's first
Sonic Unleashed
Batman Arkham Knight.
