What should be the next historical Total War after Troy, a new setting or a return to an old one?
Historical Total War
Bronze Age, MTW3, Thirty Years War or Hussite Wars.
But series is kinda bankrupt, especially creatively.
Total Wars of the Diadochi
They just have no competition and know they can shit out anything
Stone age
Medieval II is the most obvious maybe they're just waiting for tech.
Other than than I wouldn't mind a Empire II or Napoleon II.
Oops, I meant Medieval 3. Maybe extending to the pike and shot era a bit more.
Didn't CA say they weren't interested in making third games?
The only settings that work for TW now need large unit variety. Renaissance and medieval are the only real settings that will work. Maybe a game based around the crusaders, playing as both sides.
Apart from Attila, all the last historical games have been dogshit because they're just spearmanii over and over.
I want more line autism total war games, maybe Empire 2.
>Still no TW: 30 Years War
This was pretty much Europes Sengoku Jidai and spread from Portugal to Poland-Lithuania.
Hell, you could even include a Hussite War DLC
Spearmanii over and over is literally what war had been about until we managed to produce enough shooty spears to equip whole armies with it.
Gokturk/KARA BOGA Total War.
Mongols would be nice, but they already filled the Tengri worshipping horse archers with Attila
I'm pretty sure they're just done with historical shit by now. Even Troy has minotaurs and what not.
I wouldn't be surprised when they announce Total War: Harry Potter
how do I use guns in Shogun 2 properly? I figured I'd put them inside my spearmen but that doesn't seem to work well
Pike & Shot or Medieval 3.
>resulted in 8 million people dead, most of which were german
damn these guys just can't catch a break
100% of all sixteenth century Europeans have died
Start them at the front, withdraw when the action starts and try to flank.
It’s going to be shit because of nu-CA
But if there was a chance that it wouldn’t be mediocre at best I’d say Empire II
The original has a lot of flaws that could be remedied with a sequel and it’s an interesting time period
So whats the deal with Rome 2?
Is it good now?
It's less buggy and has some decent mods
Still in the lower tier of TW games, tho
Just Aquire the LOTR License already CA you cheap fucks
Assuming they do Medieval 3 are there any specific time periods you would like to see portrayed? Seems like showing the entire Middle Ages would make for a very big and bloated game.
For me, it is the Mongol conquests.
You believe that when Warhammer 3 is inevitable? lol CA is creatively bankrupt and will do whatever makes them money now dumbass. M3 will happen and itll be worse than Rome 2 at launch.
have them challenge themselves and their format, russo-jap war or ww1
No it is not. Your legionnaires still stand around doing nothing while the next unit is getting murdered two feet away. And the unit abilities on cooldown are still cancer.
>LOTR
Isn't that just Warhammer with less unit variety?
I'd cut out the early medieval ages and start a few decades before the Mongol Invasions. On the other end they should extend it up to the Tercios and caracoles.
>they should extend it up to the Tercios and caracoles
I assume this would be tied to a faction's upgrades though, it was jarring in ME2 to be using pikemen, cannons and handgunners against a faction that is still at the level of 1200s technology. Personally I hope the pike and shot period is a separate DLC or something.
WW2
It's fucking time
If anything Empire 2 is more likely than Warhammer 3, why make a whole new game when you can just pump out loads of overpriced DLC and retards will buy it
