What's the issue? For fags who can't teleport, the trip between Eorzea and the Far East takes like a month by boat. They want a permanent solution rather than a patch job.

Pretty good. Outside of dungeons and bosses, it's basically single player, so you don't even necessarily need friends to play with if you don't got any.

Just so you are aware, it's an unironic example of "It gets better 50-100 hours in" unfortunately. The next patch coming out next month is gonna cull the base game by about 13%, but it'll still probably be a bit slow. But once you hit heavensward, it's great.

the free trial is super generous, try it out before you spend any money. It's pretty comfy.

It's a slowpaced start, but it gets pretty good once you hit the first expansion. You could spend extra money to skip the base game, but on your playthrough, I'd highly recommend against that because while ARR is overaching narrative lite, it sets up basically everything that's to come for the next few expansions.

There's a patch coming next month that will cut out a lot of the bloat in the beginning, but it will STILL be an example of "x amount of hours until it gets good" with x being a timeframe that you could have finished reasonably finished two games in.

The worst part is the game opens up at 50, most new players will continue through the main story until 80 when more fun stuff is doing the raid series or optional boss storylines that open at 50 and every 10 levels from there

XIV is a long as fuck (each expac is roughly 40 hours) single player arpg experience that requires internet and a sub because they haven't fully implemented partner AI besides within the latest expac so you still have to play it attached to the erp hub that it also is. If you have a month to no-life it you can buy a complete edition after using the trial to find a job you sort of like and power through it without needing to actually sub until another expac comes out.

If you've never EVER played an MMO it'll be more like going into a sort of clunky super level gated xenoblade game where you will get stuck for 20 minutes to an hour doing fuck all about 30 times if you're playing a dps job

If you start with black mage/thaumaturge, be aware that your rotation changes more than any other class until you hit 60. Then it settles into it's general rotation that gets used from then on. Most other classes have their basic shit down by 50 and then build on that from then on
