RESIDENT EVIL

Everyone remembers the first time they picked up the controller to experience their very first RE title. That feeling of dread is simply unmatched. Exploring an eerie, claustrophobic mansion inviting you to decipher its mysteries. Walking the rain-drenched streets of Raccoon City as ominous screams of bio-organic terrors permeate the atmosphere. Roaming a decrepit Spanish town while alone, isolated and far away from civilization. You unholster your handgun, lock and load... then get to work.

Please, no fighting. This is a comfy thread in which we show our love and appreciation to the best video game horror series.

Not only has it been matched but exceeded

>>Hyped for RE8?
no, let it die

My first game was RE4. I remember watching my older brother get it at gamecage. I remember the troll on the back cover reminded me of return of the king. Anyway it was fun watching him play and he let me play some of the game because he was borrowing my GameCube to play it.

Shoo shoo Silent Hill babby. Your gameplay is trash.

My first one was RE4 too. Wondering what they'll do with the REmake.

I first played RE4 back in 2005 when I turned 13, literally had knots in my stomach because it was my first horror game.

I enjoyed it though and proceeded to play the older games because I wanted to know more about Leon and other characters.

Resident Evil was my gateway to horror in general so it holds a special place in my heart.

>a RE fan getting filtered by tank controls
Kek, but it’s at the very least scarier than RE. Give me that and I’ll fuck off.

It was RE3 and it was 1999 in Ukraine I was 8 and I paid 50 kopecks to play it and couldn't figure out to mix the lighter fluid and the lighter tbf it was in English and I didn't speak English at the time anyway I played them all since then.

Idk what my favorite is though. Of the recent ones I liked RE7 the most but I put way more hours into RE2make. RE3make was a big disappointment.

Characters... eh, you know what Rebecca Chambers would be 40 years old today so I think it's better they just write some new ones at this point. I'm tired of all of them at this point lol

Not at all hyped for RE8, haven't followed any news. Will check it out closer to release.

Still get mocked by how much i cried like a bitch over Re2 death scenes because my 10 year old brain just didnt understand the concept of tank controls...early ps1 era was a great time of discovery...RE2,MGS1 and armored core 1 blow me aways as a kid.

Hope they can manage to tap into that special feeling and maintain the same atmosphere/aesthetic in the RE4make.

No.

My only real compliant about Remake2 is it's missing to much from the original. Then they bump out Remake3 that's missing even more content and has a shitty Nemesis. Still like how it plays, just give me an original RE game in the style of Remake2/3 please

If your first RE game was 4, kys.

RE2 was the first one I saw as a kid. I watched my brother play it and RE3. The first time I actually sat down and beat an RE game myself was RE4.

I wanna play RE7 but don't wanna give Capcom any money for it because I don't think first-person is the right direction for this series.

My first exposure was Degeneration funnily enough. It's why Claire is my favourite RE girl to this day.
First game I played was the demo of 5. Was visiting a friend and he and some of his buddies were a few years older than me so they were super cool in my eyes. I grew up on NES and DS games and they had a ps3, the graphics blew my mind. So they play the demo of 5 with me, was intense as fuck, the beheading, the claustrophobia and imminent violence.

I played the classics and they are scary too but to this day I consider anyone who calls 4 or 5 "not scary" an idiot. Being in some foreign place with some crazy cultists and niggers out for blood chasing after you, that's the same as a zombie apocalypse except they are even more capable and deadly.

You should because its a legit good game that deserve your money but...it easy as fuck to pirate it man soo go for it

>Claire and Leon in the OG times
>tfw Resident Evil Degeneration had a flashback to the Raccoon City incident
It's my favorite RE movie because of it.

Whichever one of you concocted this up is a paranoid schizo.

Why are the ps1 re games so comfy despite being survival horror games?

The game is like 20$ now, you have no excuse. Buy it used if you must.

I find kinda disapointing of how little action Claire actually gets but boy the reunion was pure nostalgia kino.Allyson Court is Claire and the fact capcom change the voice really was the fall of the character for me.

Fixed camera angles make things more cinematic. The shots are all unique and made by hand.
Games that let the player control the camera can never capture the same atmosphere because it's predetermined and letting the player change that prevents that feeling. It's why game trailers are always so incredibly scripted, trying to get the perfect shots from imperfect player controlled camera.

Still, they ought to be applauded for succeeding in bringing back an old-school classic to the modern era whilst maintaining its core feels and what made it special. The gameplay really stands out and shows its quality after you spend enough time with it. Each of my playthroughs were exhilarating. Ever try a no-death run? Highly recommended.

Ok boomer.

Same here, that first zombie scared the shit out of me.

I'm 30 and love eating werthers originals. Is this part of getting old?/

Damn I wish I could have been there to experience RE2 when it first launched. But I was only 4 years old. Was there any hype for it? The brand must not have been well-known back then.

RE3 in Dreamcast. Blew me the fuck away. Nothing compares to being in that dark room playing RE3 when the only thing I played before was Ocarina of Time and Kirby on N64

>favorite game
Probably 3, then 4, then Outbreak

Very hyped for Re8. At this point, they keep proving they can make old fans happy, and make new fans by exploring other things. I’m really really excited for that shit, but I also still hope they remake 4 or something. Maybe a sequel to 3.

Very well said. You can just hear them yelling "UN FORESTERO!", chanting "MORIR ES VIVIR" and all kinds of fucked up shit. There's just something about being an /operator/ in hostile territory that Capcom nailed excellently.

I'm Irish so video game hype is not something I ever remember being a big deal here in the 90s with the exception of maybe Tomb Raider.

My first time playing an RE game was playing RE1 at my friend's house. He had a PS1 and had gotten RE1 for his birthday. We spent two weeks playing it and finally beating it. My first RE game was RE2 which I got after finally getting a PS1 in like 1997. I had just beaten FF7 so going to RE2 was a really different experience. I don't remember how many times I beat it. I S ranked the whole game, beat Hunk and Tofu, etc. I played them all through RE4 (I stopped there for awhile) and didn't play another one until RE 2 Remake. My favorite is probably RE 2 Remake, with RE 1 remake being a close second.

>REmake4
look up...Same sources that leaked RE8 leaked that there will a Remake4

Why are the RE games so good? I've played all the main ones and major side ones and 6 was the only one I didnt like.

>tfw you realize that at some point people will be nostalgic for RE4

Attached: 1592421705040.jpg (360x360, 21.98K)

I don't think there's going to be another remake of 1.
