To think FoMT was basically a remixed port of the PS1 game, down to reused sprites, thrown to TOSE, and it's still one of the best, and most soulful games in the series.

Actually Natsume did have a point.
They were trying to defend their nu-Harvest Moon on social media saying "there's no such thing as a real Harvest Moon, original director left after Animal Parade. Would any games after that be considered not real HM games?" and you know what? The answer is fucking yes.

Many of the most awful aspects of modern Farm Story/Story of Seasons aspects were retroactively injected in this "remake".

This game's localization was delayed one year because the remake's developers wanted it to be FoMT: Bisexual Edition, then the localization thought the yaoi/yuri wasn't politically correct enough and they needed more time to reword it again and again in a resetera-friendly way.
The same cancerous shipper audience this was made for, didn't tolerate the existence of rival events. While so far just new games had rival events not added (love triangle scenes that flesh out the relationship and make it actually interesting) this one removed them from a prior work.

To be brutally honest, the attention put into that feature compared to the rest of the remake's content (that's worse off for it) is enough for me to despise that degenerate cancer.
