I’m an SMT fan, is this game any good?

unironically good and fun, better than p5r

No. But good in its own way.

No it's dogshit, only play if you're a weebshitter of the highest caliber and can tolerate a metric ton of garbage for anime girls and bright colors

If you want to go to the Jack Frost convenience store in Shibuya, this game is for you.

Yes. The gameplay is great.

I beat a little while ago, and it's definitely good. The character/mirage designs are decent overall (although default virion is very ugly), and the gameplay is good. It gets a lot of flak because it mashes up both the franchises in its own weird way. You can see all the crossover elements in play, and buffs/debuffs are definitely a must like in regular SMT.

It can be very repetitive, but it isn't overly long like the Persona games. I beat in like 40 hours.

Its made for Persona fans, not SMT

It's a lot better than people give it credit for, most people posting on here saw KOWASHITAI and got asshurt it wasn't what they wanted

Game is in no way a Persona-like, with the game basically following a dungeon crawling. Dungeons aren't anything mindblowing but they're not bad. Gameplay is basically SMT, except Press Turn is replaced with Sessions, which is 'Hit weakness, party dogpiles depending on skills available". A bit less indepth, but as you get skills, there's a fair bit of strategy you can put into it.

As far as story goes, it's not SMT really but it's also not really FE. The Idol stuff is more of a framing mechanic than the actual plot.

Gameplay is surprisingly solid, everything else is cringe. If you treat it like an elaborate joke you might get plenty of enjoyment out of it, though. I say give it a shot!

The special skills (ad libs, duo arts) basically made the game for me

No. It has worse dungeon design than almost any SMT game, combat that starts off interesting but gets tedious incredibly quickly, pitiful enemy variety, an interesting but incredibly limited soundtrack, a UI that's pretty to look at but a chore to navigate, and shit characters that are impossible to care about.
Its defenders will pretend that the censorship is the only thing wrong with it (if they acknowledge that the censorship is a problem at all), but it's simply not a good game regardless.

>A bit less indepth
Bruh Press turn has no depth. This system is better since least everyone has hard weakness built in and buffs/debuffs are a one-time thing.

best team team comp is Itsuki (Great Lord) / Tsubasa (Falcon Knight) / Kiria (Sorceror)

fuck Mamori

>fuck Mamori
She's best used as a
>Undo my fuck up
Button

But Jpop is strong with Persona games, too.

As for mainline SMT....
If demons and angels went KOWASHITAI...
I'd like that.

It has a weeby premise, but is actually a lot of fun. A few dull dungeon gimmicks, but otherwise it's good. I enjoy having my entire party jump in to attack an enemy when I set up a session.

But if anyone has played the Wii U version, the Switch version does NOT add enough to make double dipping worth it. So if either of the guys who bought the Wii U version read this, don't buy Encore.

you basically just hit the weakness and the game goes for you in Sessions. The most you have to think is deliberately not aiming for an enemy with a Null, so it doesn't break your Session, but instead getting the skill that puts Pierce on any session that continues after defeating one enemy and letting that handle the enemy with Null. Unlike Press Turn though, there's no way to use it defensively, especially as the co-op skills are mostly random

Her revive Special is her best asset. I'll give her her due, she stops being awful as soon as she gets the Radiant that removes her armourslayer weakness

Don't disrespect the headless moving maid statues. Satoshi had to program that in all month.

I'd describe it as SMT Lite. I enjoyed it, but it should cost more like $30.

the gameplay is in no-way the same as Persona. The closest thing to social Links are just that every party member + Maiko/Barry/Tiki have 3 sidequests

How does it integrate Fire Emblem mechanics?

Annette Costume Mamori tho

>Expect SMT with Fire Emblem gameplay
>Get Idol Weebshit Persona

Dishonest game-making of the highest caliber.

The gameplay side of the game is fine, everything else is unremarkable to bad. Unless you've exhausted most of the megaten series then I don't see much point in playing it when you could just play any of those since they usually have great atmosphere, good soundtracks, better stories and for the most part better gameplay as well.

Not really though, tonally it's nothing like persona, it's lighthearted and it's overly goofy and it never really diverges from that, it's more like how an smtfag views persona but as an actual game and not just an exaggerated view.

I can't believe tsubasas game flopped twice!

The weapon system/triangle, as well as the mirages (+upgrades).

there's not much smt fan-service but the game plays more or less like what you've come to expect from SMT.

>comparing apples with oranges

>Weapon Triangle integrated into SMT elemental system
>Bows beat pegasluts, Armourslayers/Cavslayers exist
>Promotion/Reclassing systems
>You get new 'demons' by reforging your Carnage into a new weapon and different weapons have different effects
>Radiant Skills are passives like FE Skills

Gameplay is solid, writing and story are tripe, if you already exhausted all the better megaten games its worth a go

>516547419 (You)
>nearly identical game play
>apple/oranges

>make up idea of game in your head from one 10 second teaser
>ignore several trailers for new version of game

They did detail any gameplay mechanics, only that it would involve those two franchises

that amv shit threw me off so hard. i had to skip every idolshit cutscenes

For that price, you'd have to mute the game, tough. Avex charges for its Jpop productions, you see.

Tiki is here.
She is a vocaloid now.

>It has worse dungeon design than almost any SMT game
The dungeon design is fine and better than most SMT games. It even incorporates interconnectivity, puzzle solving and a little bit of interactivity with the dungeon. It's pretty tightly designed.
>but gets tedious incredibly quickly
You can speed though sessions. It get get tedious after a while but what can you expect? SMT games lack depth so it just goes though battle loops.
>pitiful enemy variety
In terms of looks sure.
>incredibly limited soundtrack
In what way? It uses both vocal and instruments tracks. It's all good.
>but a chore to navigate
The UI is sleek and not at all difficult to navigate, you can do in and out.

>but it's simply not a good game regardless
You're right it's great.

i love you Ellie but you gotta learn to survive more than 2 fucking hits

How's the Wii U version in comparison? Is it worth playing if I don't have a Switch

Tiki=waifu is my waifu!

She was waiting to save you in that dungeon.
Plot twist.

Oh, I know.

Did this game bombed the second time too? I know the virus killed off the concert which means avex couldn't make a profit this time.

>The dungeon design is fine and better than most SMT games. It even incorporates interconnectivity, puzzle solving and a little bit of interactivity with the dungeon. It's pretty tightly designed.
Except it does those things worse than most SMT games. Being able to flip a switch to change the route or needing to walk around obstacles doesn't suddenly make your dungeon design amazing, it's incredibly simple shit that's in most games to begin with.
>You can speed though sessions.
That doesn't do much to help.
>It get get tedious after a while but what can you expect? SMT games lack depth so it just goes though battle loops.
Most SMT games have significantly better enemy variety to keep things vaguely fresh. In #FE you're already fighting the same enemy with a different name by the second dungeon.
>In what way? It uses both vocal and instruments tracks. It's all good.
In not having many songs on it. I said it was good, so why are you saying it's good like you're challenging me saying otherwise?
>The UI is sleek and not at all difficult to navigate, you can do in and out.
No one said it was difficult to navigate, you retard. I said it was a chore to navigate. Those aren't the same thing.
>You're right it's great.
Nah, it's mediocre at best.

KOWASHITAI remains a banger

Really fun game, I know next to nothing about SMT but I do know it has some monster collecting mechanic which this one does not, I think the name of the skills are the same as in SMT
I just thought the game was way too short, had no real challenge or side-content like optional bosses, and most of all it lacked romance even though most girls are clearly into Itsuki, there are only some implied romantinc interactions and that's it
Kiria a best

Attached: best.jpg (1280x720, 342.25K)

If you like persona and fire emblem you'll probably enjoy it to an extent, but it's worth than either series
