AC Thread

What's your favorite AC?

AC4 is obviously a part of the holy trinity and is essential playing with a flight model the rest of the series shares. While AC5 was slower, I liked the stompiness and the jump mechanic was neat, made the movement unique. I'm using a Gree right now and it's only good for a small bedroom, takes to long to cool anything larger if it even does at all.

2 is really the only good one and I prefer speedy legs over tracks. Still have to play 0 but cobb is my favorite villager

>Got a copy of Ace Combat 4 with my friend's PS2 he gave me.
>Disc crashes after first mission cutscene.
Feels bad, at least I still have Ace Combat 5

Just emulate then. AC2 and Another Age emulate great as well.

There's a guide to emulating AC4 that works if you're on windows. Try it out youtu.be/H-z4rt3TRGA .

Each game has interesting aspects that could be fantastic if combined but for some reason they drop a lot of the cool features every installment.
>AC5: multiple wingman, each with different strengths and preferences
>AC0: Ace style impacting what opponents you fight, radio chatter and mission selection
>AC6: ESM, in-mission rearming and fuck huge battles
>AC:AHL or ACX: part selection

That image needs more Assetto Corsa.

>AC1: Make your own house with a lot of collectables, go in to debt and you get experimented on
>AC2: 3 vehicles each with their own component customization
>AC3: Branching storyline, only 2 predefined vehicles
>AC4: assassinate predefined targets on foot
>AC5: multiple wingman that you can coordinate with commands
This series is all over the place.

My favorite AC is armored core, then ace combat.
No other ACs need apply

Truth. We're never getting another armored core, are we?

Fucking gringos and their acronyms. Everything is mess up because of the shit. And because they are too fucking lazy to write the whole word.

I'm on my first playthrough of AC 7 now, should I play the DLC missions after finishing the campaign? I read that chronology they happen after mission 13, so I tried playing the first one, but I keep running out of missiles or getting my ass kicked.

I hate the AC5 junkyard hangar/aesthetic, the older games were much better in that regard (especially LR)
But AC4 is hands down the best one, really makes you feel like a pirate.

We'll maybe get Daemon X Machina 2 and it will also be disappointing
I'll take a fucking armored souls at this point

>AC7
You should play the holy trinity first (ACI, AC6, and AH). Start with ACI, then AC6, then AH (the steam version has exclusive content that'll help you understand AC7's story) then go play AC7 and DLCs. People will recommend the PS2 games but they ages horribly and I wouldn't recommend them.

I played them after completing the campaign. I guess if you're passed mission 13 then play them on your leisure. May be underpowered if you play them too early.

>armored souls
Hmm, if they make going back to base it's own thing (add infiltration/exfiltration to missions) I could see this being neat.

>then AH (the steam version has exclusive content that'll help you understand AC7's story)
what the fuck, how does that work

>mfw stabbing an F-22 Raptor in the fucking neck with my hidden wrist-net

Yeah the DLC assumes you've played through the game and want a little side story as a bonus. If this is your first Assassin's Crossing you should play through the rest of the main campaign first and then come back to Unexpected Visitor. I've been a fan of AC since 04 and imo Skies Unknown has the best (and toughest) designed missions, where each one has some kind of special gimmick or trick. One of the weakest points of the 04-05-0 trilogy was that the missions felt very same-y after a while, especially in 05. 07 keeps it fresh by throwing a new curveball at you each time, but that can also dissuade and frustrate new players and turn them off from Kono-san's Wild Ride, which is a shame because it's very rewarding when you do climb over the learning curve.

>AC6: ESM, in-mission rearming and fuck huge battles
I really hope they do capturing airfields again in future games.

I already played AC2, the JP version of AC3 and a couple of the PS2 games.
I've never played any of the 7th gen games, I guess I'll give them a try.

Fuck off Ubishill. Nobody cares about what new games you’re gonna show off-
>Ace Combat, not Assassin’s Creed
Ah, my mistake. Carry on then.

I hate this fucking thread

I gotta play through AC3 sometime. Love the menus.

WTF is wrong with AC? Probably because it's the only time you're allowed an Ace Core thread.

The joke is that there are like 5 series with the initials AC.

Ace Combat
Armored Core
Animal Crossing
Assassin's Creed
Assetto Corsa (not pictured)
And probably others.

Analise his post again.
>thinks it's an AssCreed thread
>checks out OP image
>concludes it's an AceComb thread
You don't think he isn't in on the joke?

My smoothbrain can't handle trying to figure out which ac you're talking about with vague references

AC3 has a funny flight system that can take some getting used too. Otherwise its one of my favorites in the series.

Well ravens are dead and no one talks about them anymore. And only a joke thread even mentions the game they're in. It's a pretty starved topic.

I actually liked that you can stall if you don't thrust when increasing altitude.

AC6 for the scale of missions. Multiple fronts and multiple objectives is what this series needs. 7 was regression

It's missing Astral Chain

The big one for me the first time around was trying to pull up with out leaving enough space/time to overcome your downward momentum.
I don't dislike how it plays, its just different from the more modern games.

If only AC6 got a PC release. Hell considering P4G why not just port it, you don't even have to update the graphics or whatever.
