What do you think?
Now that the dust has settled
Its shit
just about to play this in 2 days, gonna tell you after
you'll like it
A decently fun, memorable experience that I have no desire to ever play again.
Best game this gen. In time it'll get the praise it deserved
Well put fren.
>buy it launch day
>play it
>seems pretty cool
>stop playing for some reason
>delete to make space for other games
>forget about it for 6 months
>remember i havent beaten it
>play it again
>plot gets sillier by the minute
>still enjoy them long walks
>get to the ending
>ok any day now
>ending is still going 20 minutes in
>the fuck is going on
>look up the ending online
>about 2 hours
>yeah nah
>uninstall
I still count it as beating the game, but i aint sitting through a 2 fucking hour long ending
Shoo shoo zoom zoom
Im probably older than you, boy.
I sat through MGS 4's hour long ending 12 years ago and I wont do it again for kojimbers
>sat through the ending of a worse game
>not enough patience to sit through the ending of a game you literally completed
confirmed autist lol
>2 hour long ending
One of my favorite games. Had me captivated from start to finish. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but I found it quite satisfying.
> not having the foresight to know there was a better kojima ending to a game 12 years in the future is somehow my fault
I feel that you get bullied a lot in school, huh
Really good as a proof of concept, though I do think it needs a sequel for the gameplay to really live up to its potential.
>not watching the movie
>not playing the epilogue mission
You screwed yourself
Then why doesnt it feel like it lol
I havent thought about this game until this thread
F*ck kojima for releasing on tuesday! F*CK JOKIMA
I feel a lot of projection going on, huh, melvin?
Your ADD ass probably thinks Metal Gear Survive is the best one ya bish
Lying for fake internet points literally makes you zero percent cooler bro
Story is pretentious slop. Gameplay is repetitive. This game should have allowed access to all the mechanics from the beginning and make the map a procedurally generated world to make it challenging.
i can feel that this is a based poster
Any advice for someone who's gonna play it on the 14th?
>gameplay was surprisingly fun
>plot was unsurprisingly complete trash
I made the mistake of buying it on ps4. I just have a base model but the game definitely feels like its pushing the limits of the system and just feels jank as hell. Specfically with the frame drops. I'm not a fan of 30 but at the very damn least make it a consistent one. I'll see if hopefully running it on a high end machine will help fix my issues with the game because I find the ups simulator aspect to be relaxing.
I liked it a lot.
I'm on the fence about playing it again. Depends if hard mode is cool or not.
>Any beginner tips from grizzled PS4 veterans?
Hard difficulty only (I guess Very Hard now).
Central Knot to Port Knot is a tutorial area. Yes, it's a six to ten hour tutorial. Once you get to the Distribution Center it gets much easier because you'll get grenades and there's a bike there.
Pressing L3 will switch you to sprinting/boost mode. If you cannot climb something in regular driving on a car or bike just spam boost mode until you climb it. The bike in particular can take massive steep inclines.
As soon as you land in Lake Knot make a beeline to Engineer to stop feeling like a drunk when you walk.
If you are running out of stamina in a river stop moving and let it recover.
Early game is all about maximizing stamina via Monster and resting. Once you get the bike it's not really a worry.
If you "kill" BTs they'll be gone from the area for about half a realtime hour.
If you purposely get caught by a BT you can fight the big boss of the area to completely wipe out the area if you kill it but I never found a use for this personally because it instantly voids you of the LoL rank on any delivery you're doing and clearing out 5 BTs is usually easier.
Ziplines outside of Mountain Knot's general vicinity are not really worth it because typically anything outside of there requires bike or truck tier storage to deliver for LoL ranks. It's worth it from CKDC or Musician down to Port Knot though and through Wind Farm.
Strength >>>>>>> Speed = All-Terrain. Not once did I ever find use for Speed in 160 hours of gameplay. You risk taking damage to your cargo when you jump any distance, you risk falling a lot more, you lose like 40 free KG for no reason, and you're going to be on a bike or a truck a massive amount of the time anyway.
Fast travel is entirely useless and you will almost never use it because it strips you of everything but your boots, skeleton, and anything in grenade/blood pouches.
I used grenades for every BT, never saw a point to the other guns.
The dust wont settle til it launches on pc
(2/2 from a previous thread)
Get through the first map as quick as you can. It's a pronged hand holdy tutorial. The game only starts to open up on the second map, and you can go back to do the optional missions later.
The mini cutscenes where you shower/deliver packages/use the lift are all skippable and don't serve much purpose.
Player signs give you little stat boosts when you touch them. Test out each one as you go.
Restoring roads is costly but saves you LOADS of time in repeat journeys.
Bikes can carry some of your stuff. Handy for heavy resources.
Balance your loads. There's an auto-equip option that does it properly 9 times out of 10, but sometimes you need to place things by hand to keep them safe.
A happy BB = being able to spot BTs easier. Make sure you play with your BB and just generally be nice to it.
Follow other players paths. This usually points out an easier route, but also wears down the ground and creates a literal path in time.
Crouching makes it easier to keep balance.
You can steal trucks from MULES. Handy early on when you want to steal all their shit but don't have your own vehicles.
Take time to drink in the atmosphere. Music plays when you do things like rest or find scenic spots.
Don't use the bike to get up the mountain where you test the grenades
>using the term "literally"
Thats a great way to tell Im dealing with a retard
>replying to your own posts becaise no one is backing you up
Jej
what did you expect buying a new kojima game lol
I actually like the delivery simulation and all the building mechanics. I fucking hate the characters and the story though.
