I've always wanted to play a fighting game, what's a good one that's better for newbies? Or an upcoming one?
Samurai Shodown, either V:Special or 2019, are super easy to pick up and play. Street Fighter V isn't too bad and is active as well.
With all of the SAO/Digimon shit nowadays I'm surprised no one has went back to this game or it's concept.

I own over 50 different fighting games, this is the only character that I can usually win with.
The problem with fighting games is their online shelf life is incredibly short if they aren't named Tekken or Street Fighter. The Granblue fighting game came out in like March and it's already a ghost town online, for instance. So if you have any desire to play against other people online, you're going to need to choose a new game, or as I said the Big Two of fightan. The new Guilty Gear is coming out by the end of the year if you're into anime shit. For 3D movement fighters, Tekken reigns king, but Soul Caliber is fine too.
