That's not what I was saying at all. If that's what YOU were saying, then you're retarded. Imperialists have an arbitrary definition of civilisation vs. barbarism which is usually based on the assumption that their random cultural mores are right and proper, and anything else is totally improper.
For example, the European powers thought anyone who didn't know the Greek and Latin classics was uncivilised. The Chinese thought that anyone who didn't know the Confucian classics were uncivilised. Really, they just wanted to justify to themselves why the fuck they could get to subjugate others.

This isn't to say that you can't have a valid definition of civilisation vs. barbarism, it's just to say that imperialists don't have one.
